I might be a gypsy. 8230;follow me on my adventures in Japan. Gero and HEAT →. Rejuvenated–Hirayu onsen village and Kyoto. July 7, 2013. I know its been a while, but here we go with some updates! Andrew making use of this unusual mountain bus stop. Breakfast was eaten in a common room, on the floor around a hearth (used in the winter I suppose). We felt very communal and Japanese indeed. The traditional Japanese breakfast was also served with fish, pickled vegetables, rice and miso soup as well a...Now T...

I might be a gypsy. 8230;follow me on my adventures in Japan. October 15, 2013. Our last month in Japan may have been our best. We were showered with goodbye parties, gifts and even new experiences. Andrew worked like a mad man to try to finish up a bunch of experiments and I packed up our apartment, finished teaching at the school, and got us all ready for our return to Canada. We also went to a “Showa-era” restaurant which was like going back in time! We were definitely feeling lots of love). I thi...

I might be a gypsy. 8230;follow me on my adventures in Japan. Rejuvenated–Hirayu onsen village and Kyoto. August 10, 2013. We went for a relaxing weekend up in the mountains a few weeks ago since we thought it was hot in Nagoya. Little did we know it would get insanely hotter. Today with the humidity it was 49 degrees C. Nagoya has so much concrete it just acts like a heat sink! One thought on “ Gero and HEAT. August 10, 2013 at 7:37 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. You are commen...

March 22, 2013. We finally made it to Tokyo! And we made the 350km trip in an hour and a half on the ‘Superexpress’ bullet train, which in itself was exciting. I might be a gypsy. 8230;follow me on my adventures in Japan. Newer posts →. December 20, 2012. Matcha green cake and pumpkin soup. We both were also given an entire loaf of bread each at this restaurant as a complimentary starter. I’ve been told this is somewhat of a typical breakfast. Fish, miso soup and ‘pickles’ which can be any number of pickled things. My friend taught me to do pickled red turnip, so that’s what we have here. We spent some time this month watching a bunch of Japanese films and chec...
