Richard in London: August 2012
http://rthomasfoundation.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
An enthusiastic amateurs journey round the world of art and music. Sunday, 19 August 2012. DOCUMENTA (13) - Kassel. We dropped in at dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel for a couple of days on our way back to London from Copenhagen. There's almost too much to see, and in that sense it is as overwhelming as Frieze. But as a once-in-five-years event perhaps it can be forgiven for trying to cram everything in. For me the memorable pieces were:. I Need Some Meaning I Can Memorise (The Invisible Pull) 2012". Richard Tho...

Richard in London: October 2012
http://rthomasfoundation.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
An enthusiastic amateurs journey round the world of art and music. Friday, 26 October 2012. A couple of weeks on and I have just about put the 7 day party that is Frieze far enough behind me to start being able to focus my eyes and order my thoughts. Much is written of Frieze proper, and I shan't add to that except to say (a) it was fun to bump into lots of friends and (b) I liked Cabinet. Even when it was full it didn't seem claustrophobic. Sadly somewhat beyond my price range. Some very pretty and frie...

I have been helping to support the New Movement Collective (NMC), run amongst others by my friend Gosia Dzierzorn of the Rambert Dance Company. The piece was extraordinarily good, and rather than trying to describe it I will rely on the very praising reviews here: Guardian. Wednesday, 17 July 2013. In Manchester: 4 – The parties. Somehow also the tireless Alex Poots. Festival directo...

Richard in London: January 2013
http://rthomasfoundation.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
An enthusiastic amateurs journey round the world of art and music. Thursday, 31 January 2013. My heart bleeds for Newbury. My heart bleeds for Newbury; for its has been eviscerated. Twenty years since last I visited this market town some 60 miles from London. No doubt naive of me to be surprised, but it's like another country if you live as I do in central London. I can't imagine what sort of economic policy could fix this in less than a generation. We need to change our society. View my complete profile.

http://rthomasfoundation.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
An enthusiastic amateurs journey round the world of art and music. Wednesday, 28 November 2012. In Amsterdam: 4 – Pinar and Viola. Visiting the Pinar and Viola design studio. Apart from going to really quite a lot of bars and restaurants with various combinations of the delightful Pinar and Viola in rather a short space of time I did manage also to squeeze in a visit to the studio of what Dazed and Confused has described both as a " radical design duo. I strongly recommend looking at their website and va...
