Of course a little humor doesn’t hurt as long as you’re making fun of yourself. Most people will, when apologized to and made to understand your contriteness of spirit and willingness to make it up, accept an apology for some wrong you may have done them. Does it get much dumber than that? Probably not, he answers to himself.

Usually there’s not more than a 100 people there. The Pastor is in his 30s, sings and plays guitar and is one fantastic preacher. My wife and I enjoy the regular services very much and love the music, the energy and emotional impact of being there. Sunday, August 31, 2014. And then I threw away her mask. The effects of the chemo are slowly making themselves apparent. I am more tired and my stomach is a little more queasy, similar to the way it felt after my surgery. This 3 day weekend should give me a chance to rest up since treatments won't start again till Tuesday. I only take the chemo on the days I get radiation which will be Monday through Friday on regular weeks. I have 26 more treatments to go. Sunday, August 17, 2014. In and Out Surgery.

Sunday, November 30, 2014. Well, it's another wonderful Saturday night. I had Friday off, so I started putting up the Christmas lights and was able to get most of it done. I finished today and did the grocery shopping as well. Vicki worked on the inside and the whole place looks like a Christmas wonderland. As is my wont, I made a fire tonight in the fire pit and had a couple of Whiskeys and a cigar while I enjoyed the light show. Tomorrow we will take it easy. Wish us luck,. Sunday, July 12, 2015. We went out to Ak-Chin Pavilion this Saturday evening to see the first concert we've been to in years. It started out with Sam Hunt. He got the crowd rocking and the girls loved him. His set was pretty short, but very good. Next was Hunter Hayes. This little guy can play the hell out of his guitar and really showed it. He did a couple of long songs with great guitar riffs. I took this shot of their last song as we were heading out. Other than that it was fun. Friday, July 3, 2015.

Monday, April 13, 2015. I am still waiting today to hear from the scheduler at the cancer center for my scan date. The weekend was tough with lots of exhaustion and some minor side effects. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. No more chemo for the at least the next 3 months. The scan came back clean with no sign of any active cancer. The blood test had a miniscule marker for cancer, it may be a false positive caused by the chemo. I just have to keep my eyes open for any changes. I will get another scan in 3 months with another blood test and we'll see what that brings. Till then I am cancer free and fancy free as well. It may be difficult to stay sober tonight. Sunday, September 28, 2014. When Monkeys flew out my butt. OK, so no actual monkeys flew out of my butt, though on a couple of days this last week it did feel that way. I am not complaining as much as reporting. My oncologists tell me some of their patients have it much worse. I believe them. I remain is survival mode, taking it hour by hour. Sunday, October 26, 2014. Well, I thought I had it whipped. I went to work this last week and made it to Thursday, but by Thursday afternoon I was exhausted. So, I stayed home Friday hoping to rest up and regain my strength. My digestive system was coming around as well. Sunday, May 10, 2015. A Great Mother's Day. Vicki got a surprise visit from kids and grandkids today. They had to track us down at the pool to find us, but in usual fashion they excelled at surprising us. It was very nice. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Eight Down and 1 to Go! Today (Tuesday the 31st of March) I had my 8th chemo treatment and an office visit with the oncologist. The good doctor informed me that the next treatment will hopefully be the last. So I take a long treatment on the 7th of April and then the next week a CT Scan to look for any signs of lingering cancer cells. If the scan is clean, I'm done.
