Walking together in Grace in search of Growth. Monthly Archives: June 2013. June 17, 2013. While our Pastor, Kathleen, was attending the Georgia Annual Conference to help celebrate her mother’s retirement from ministry with the United Methodist Church, I had the great honor, once again, to preach. 8230;um, NO! 8211; but what I do remember is that from that day forward, I’ve always thought about money. How to earn it, how to spend it, how to invest it. And on July 28, 1998, I boarded a plane headed for En...

August 16, 2013. 8220;What is tomorrow’s date? 8221; I asked, prepping the next day’s sign in sheets on the front counter at work. 8220;August 6th.” she replied. 8220;My grandmother’s birthday.” I replied, instinctively, not realizing what I was saying till the words had already fallen. 8220;Aww, well Happy Birthday to your grandmother! Neighbors | Walk with Me

Walking together in Grace in search of Growth. December 23, 2013. Today I showed Kris around my college campus. There’s something really fun about telling stories you haven’t thought of in ages. Tidbits of Huntingdon’s history, using the hill on the Green as a water slide each Spring, and of course, there’s the infamous Oracle Hunt! Then we stopped in front of the Student Life Center, where the Graduate Bricks lay. And my name lands somewhere in the middle of classmates, roommates, neighbors.

November | 2012 | Walk with Me
https://papilio588.wordpress.com/2012/11
Walking together in Grace in search of Growth. Monthly Archives: November 2012. November 12, 2012. In 2003 I wrote a piece about my grandmother’s brother and gave it to her for Christmas. The next Christmas she gave me his purple heart. When she passed away a few years ago, I inherited the rest of his medals and his dog tags. On this Veterans day, I wanted to share a little bit about the young man I never met who still touches my heart. There is a man whose picture sits beside my bed. Every night I s...

I can’t think of a time when I ever saw a member of that family without a genuine smile on their face. Wheels on the Bus. A picture is worth a thousand words. Follow “Walk with Me”.

Walking together in Grace in search of Growth. Monthly Archives: October 2012. The End of an Era. October 23, 2012. So tonight I learned that the restaurant that I worked at while in seminary, Tony Roma’s, closed down. While I’m not surprised, I still find myself a little shocked. After all, amidst all of its dysfunction (and oh there was plenty! It was a place that holds a lot of memories for me. I’d love to share a few:. He got on my last nerve, and seemed to enjoy doing so! Walking together in Grace in search of Growth. Monthly Archives: November 2013. The Reason I stay. November 27, 2013. The last few weeks (years) my global church, the United Methodist Church, has been struggling in the conversation about homosexuality in the church. Do we ordain? This week, Rev. Schaefer. Intended or not, this is the message the UMC is sending. So to counteract this harmful message, and to remind ourselves why we love the church the way we do, there is a movement being hosted by the ...

Walking together in Grace in search of Growth. December 25, 2013. After taking communion together, we head back to Bo and Jody’s house (this year, to MayMay and PaPa’s house, which now belongs to Bo and Jody), where they have inevitably outdone themselves. The house is always decorated with charm, and you can count on hearing either Bing Crosby or the Grinch. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. And tagged Rethink Christmas.
