e-bag of shakespeare: Hamlet: any small piece of food that derives from pig.

http://rueschgabe232.blogspot.com/2011/09/hamlet-any-small-piece-of-food-that.html

Monday, September 12, 2011. Hamlet: any small piece of food that derives from pig. Yeah, I'm saying sometimes I can be the leave a note by the sink kind of guy, and then do no follow-up. I can be the say something witty yet hint at something I wish you did differently or didn't do. However, seeing the extremity of Hamlet's behavior (and lack of behavior) reminded me that if I need to do something important, at least I know several ways not to do it. Posted by Gabriel Ruesch. e-bag of shakespeare: The Merchant

http://rueschgabe232.blogspot.com/2011/10/merchant.html

Saturday, October 22, 2011. Red theme- symbol of blood. Also. Relates to Jesus Christ's sacrifice. I originally planned on covering one of these. Subjects a day this week, but obviously I didn't. Good thing I agree with the use of mercy, something I lightly covered recently. I mentioned at the end of said post. Here's something from Antonio that will show you what relation I noticed (in Act V):. I once did lend my body for his wealth;. Which, but for him that had your husband's ring,. Jesus lent his body...

e-bag of shakespeare: I have an oath!

http://rueschgabe232.blogspot.com/2011/10/i-have-oath.html

Friday, October 14, 2011. I have an oath! I've finished watching and reading the play, and I have a LOT to say about this. I know, I know, I wasn't very excited to do something as general as looking at religion, but as I finished reading and watching The Merchant of Venice. I saw so many things that could relate to Christianity on levels more than just skin deep Jew vs Christian. I could easily go into more detail about the antagonized Shylock. Posted by Gabriel Ruesch. e-bag of shakespeare: September 2011

http://rueschgabe232.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 30, 2011. Breathe in . . . breathe out. I have one more thing I wanted to mention about A Winter's Tale. And how the story is told. I mentioned once (can't remember where, maybe a comment on a friend's blog or actually a post of my own) how it's kind of hard to mark the genre the play fits in. Is it a tragedy? Well, yes, but not enough people die in the end. How about a romance? Sort of, but only in the second half of the play and it's fairly shallow. How about a history? It happened be...

e-bag of shakespeare: The entree of Shylock (but no pork)

http://rueschgabe232.blogspot.com/2011/10/leftovers-and-for-shylocks-sake-no-pork.html

Saturday, October 22, 2011. The entree of Shylock (but no pork). Is Shylock such an antagonist? The next part of my fragmented analysis of The Merchant of Venice. Was going to be. Shylock rending his garment. The depiction of Shylock throughout this version is at times up to interpretation, but other times he's just the stereotypical stingy Jew. I haven't seen the full Al Pacino 2004 rendition of The Merchant of Venice. It makes me wonder, why did Shakespeare choose to write this play? Jewish people were...

Designing Shakespeare: 12/12/11

http://maureraustin232.blogspot.com/2011_12_12_archive.html

12 December, 2011. As the semester ends, we have been asked by our Shakespeare professor to reflect upon our end of semester activities, our Engaging Shakespeare event. This post will serve as those reflections for me. A few weeks ago, I wrote a post detailing my observations about Reality and Illusion in Shakespeares works. I hadnt  yet finished King Lear. 160;at the time, so I am now taking the opportunity to look at the same theme in that play. King Lear' Continue reading. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Designing Shakespeare: The Reply

http://maureraustin232.blogspot.com/2011/11/reply.html

15 November, 2011. A couple of weeks ago, I posted about an email. That I sent to Stephan Thiel about visualizing Shakespeare and the arts. I recently received his reply. Here are his answers to my questions. What do you see as the specific benefits of such visualization? In what ways does this sort of thing provide a new understanding of the music or literature being visualized? So whats the benefit of another layer of abstraction (and its representation/communication through visualization)? Do you thin...

Designing Shakespeare: Measuring Up

http://maureraustin232.blogspot.com/2011/11/measuring-up.html

04 November, 2011. My assessment of myself: this post has the main purpose of evaluating myself according to the learning outcomes and expectations of my Shakespeare class and my personal expectations for this blog. At other times when I have studied Shakespeare, I have often tried to simply understand the storyline and the basic theme behind it. This semester, I have been able to examine more subtle themes and nuances in the text. I have particularly enjoyed viewing some productions and offering some an...

Designing Shakespeare: Reflections

http://maureraustin232.blogspot.com/2011/12/reflections.html

12 December, 2011. As the semester ends, we have been asked by our Shakespeare professor to reflect upon our end of semester activities, our Engaging Shakespeare event. This post will serve as those reflections for me. This semester has been a lot of fun. I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and the opportunities I have had to both increase my understanding of Shakespeare and share those insights on this blog and through our event last Friday. That plan was realized during the event. Write an article abo...
