Friday, April 12, 2013. Puikkokämppä Hut on the Karhunkierros Trail is now a Day Trip Hut. Originally a reindeer herders’ hut, Karhunkierros trail’s Puikkokämppä hut is a significant part of Oulanka National Park’s cultural heritage. Having served hikers for decades, fairly extensive renovations would be needed to make the hut meet current customer and fire safety regulations, so it has been decided to turn it from a wilderness hut into a day trip hut.
