Ruminations, Rambles, Reflections

Ruminations, rambles, reflections - a visual art journey. A circular walk at Wembury. On one of the only decent days in January about a week ago I did a 7 mile circular walk at Wembury with a friend - there were a few spots of rain but we managed to eat our lunch in the sunshine overlooking the river at Noss Mayo. Leaving Wembury crossing fields. Up, down, sideways walking? We only saw this as we came out of the field! On the way back to Wembury along the coastal path. Posted by Rosie Kearton. I try alwa...

Ruminations, Rambles, Reflections: October 2012

http://ruminations-and-rambles.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Ruminations, rambles, reflections - a visual art journey. Surface and depth ……. I am starting a new blog over on Wordpress HERE. This is to document my MA practice but I will be continuing with this blog too! I intend to use this blog for other creative reflections and ramblings - the more everyday moments that I pay attention to - maybe this will overlap but at the moment it seems pertinent to keep them separate. I took lots of photos but seem to keep returning to my fascination with these posts. I also...

Ruminations, Rambles, Reflections: August 2012

http://ruminations-and-rambles.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Ruminations, rambles, reflections - a visual art journey. I have a friend staying for a week and we are each contributing something that sums the day up for us in the form of a photograph, words or a drawing - we will then collate them into book form - my working title for the project is Tuesday2Tuesday but this might change. Today we took the train along the Tamar Valley route to Calstock, where the Limekilm Gallery was showing 3 artists in the 'Drawn to the Valley' open studios. Posted by Rosie Kearton.

Ruminations, rambles, reflections - a visual art journey. A very happy Christmas to you all. Posted by Rosie Kearton. Monday, December 24, 2012. Today is a day when I am several steps behind the rest of the world and too lacking in energy to catch up - I've been feeling yucky for the last week and thought maybe I was sickening for something but it appears not so at the moment - I'm just under the weather and feeling 20 years older than I am - which makes me REALLY old and doesn't bear thinking about!

Ruminations, rambles, reflections - a visual art journey. I have been carrying this tiny book (5cms square) in my rucksack for simply ages and I finally found a use for it - it was a giveaway from Kate at A disorganised life. Thank you Kate - I loved using it and I'm going to adapt the idea to make further walking books. It has concertina pages so I can unfold it as the walk unfolds - lovely! But I will post another photo of the whole book when I get it back - hopefully soon as I really miss it! Now I ha...

http://ruminations-and-rambles.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Ruminations, rambles, reflections - a visual art journey. When I went down to the woods. I had all kinds of adventures. Yesterday was a terrific day spent with 2 friends visiting Bovey Tracey. And the Devon Guild of Craftsmen. Where we had lunch and browsed around the shop and exhibition space. But the main purpose of our visit was the 'Assemblage' art trail, curated by Karen Pearson. A Colony of words' Mandy Beall. Visitors were invited to take a clay word from Mandy's. Colony (of words not ants! And it...

In addition to the installations and outside sculpture there was a gentle and moving exhibition of Margaret"Mags" Nixons work in the gallery space. The exhibition was called "Sacred or Profane" it had originally been at the "pigment gallery" in Melbourne City. In the quiet gallery space there was a great meditative and comforting feeling sharing the space with the cloth "families". Alison believed in producing a properly presented piece of work at th...

Ruminations

Tuesday, July 20, 2010. One reason older people are less respected today. In many societies, the elderly are revered for their wisdom. This is much less prevalent in the modern world, especially in developed nations. One obvious reason is that developed countries are changing rapidly, especially in comparison to historical times. The elderly and even the middle aged often are not as comfortable or effective in the present as the younger generations. One fact missing from the Current Economic Debates.
