Random Musings From The Chaos That Is Our Life. April 21, 2013. This morning started with me getting up at 6:00 am. Why was I getting up at 6 on a Sunday? Because, once again, a friend talked me into running Pike’s Peek 10K. I was a little worried about running it this time as I had fallen behind on my training and put some pounds back on. I am a runner. Not a very fast runner, never the less, I am a runner. I live and run in Texas and Arkansas. I run anywhere my feet are. So far, my running log shows that I have run around the world once. After 12 years of running, I have started my second lap. I love to talk about fitness, the gym, classes, exercises, food, nutrition, etc. When I talk to friends, family, or anyone else that’s willing to talk about all this stuff a typical excuse for not eating more meals during the day is: “I don’t have time”, “I’m very busy at work”, or something similar. It’s not easy. Most things worth doing aren’t. A man too busy to take care of his health is like a mechanic too busy to take care of his tools.

Monday, November 17, 2014. Having run the Blossom to Bottle 5k. At Johnson’s Orchard a couple years ago, I have wanted to run the Apple Valley 5k race that is put on by another Bedford Orchard for some time now. The Apple Valley 5k race takes place at Gross’Orchard. Just below the Peaks of Otter in Bedford, VA. You could not ask for a more beautiful setting for a race. With the mountain views and the fall colors all around, the location is perfect for a fall 5k. But according to the results, I was in 42.
