What’s Filling Your Glass? | In my own words

In my own words. When Butterflies Rule the World. The Short Story →. What’s Filling Your Glass? June 21, 2014. Take a moment to consider how your attitude affects your daily happiness -the successes you may or may not enjoy in your life. My father was a famous glass-is-half-full kind of guy. He referred to what most people call problems, as opportunities. In the course of his life, he had many, many. He’d agree with J. Sidlow Baxter: What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? There ha...

Cast of “Characters”. Old triathletes never die, they just transition…. Laquo; This will be easy, she said…. December 1, 2014 by Grammadog1947. If you’re looking for it, I can tell you where to find it! Chilly sunrise at Berlin Half Marathon. The real hills start around mile 4…. Yeah…we are all walking. It went on like that pretty much the first seven miles. Then a miracle happened. It leveled out. For about three miles. I could actually run, or what passed for running by that t...Runners/survivors are r...

Cast of “Characters”. Old triathletes never die, they just transition…. Laquo; Biding my time…. Could it get any better than this? September 19, 2014 by Grammadog1947. Believe it or not, I have not died. I’m not even ill. Remember last year when I rambled on about doing a marathon “next year…maybe”? Sometimes an idea just grabs you and won’t let go. I had remained in occasional contact with TerriLee, who writes the blog “Run.Dog.Cat.Me.” on WP, and asked her if she knew anyone...Today’s title is a ...

Cast of “Characters”. Old triathletes never die, they just transition…. Laquo; Better late than never…. Biding my time…. January 23, 2014 by Grammadog1947. Once the treadmill was firmly ensconced in the basement I became a recluse. Ell, not exactly, but it sure is nice to be able to walk downstairs and run for an hour or so without worrying about the cold, the snow and ice, or whether I’ll lose a glove (or my phone) while I’m miles from home. I already had my Trek on an i n. Ance and biding my time.

Rode to happiness: Progress not perfection
http://rodetohappiness.blogspot.com/2014/02/progress-not-perfection.html
My journey on the road (literally) to success. Over the past month or so, I have been hit hard with a big heaping pile of my own medicine. Isn't it funny how that happens? Here's the thing, I, like most of you, am much better at giving advise than I am at listening to it. Ok, no worries, I've got this * deep breath*. Despite all my imperfections and mistakes, I choose to love myself anyway. To love myself anyway. Love myself. Since February is the month of "love", what better time an exercise in just that.

Rode to happiness: Beyond limitations
http://rodetohappiness.blogspot.com/2014/04/beyond-limitations.html
My journey on the road (literally) to success. Do you ever have days when all of a sudden something clicks? When you feel like you've been running upstream, and then suddenly the current changes direction? When you've been trying to make sense of that crazy painting and in the blink of an eye, you see an image clear as day? I love having those moments of clarity. Or, I just forgot a snack, and I'll be home in 30 minutes, probably not the end of the world. For weeks I have been carrying on like this, ...

My journey on the road (literally) to success. Let me (re)introduce myself. This year is a big year for me! I'll be turning pro, and for the first time, I will have a team of my own! This is an introduction of me and how my life ties in with CMI. The newest member of my team! Who is Sarah Barkley? Just like with most things in life, it’s all a matter of perspective. Perspective is something I seek quite a lot as a recovering perfectionist. If you’re wondering what "pro" means, you’re not alon...On my tea...
