Meghann on the move. Weekend part one: Warriors! August 15, 2011 at 6:18 pm Posted in races. I should have known better than to worry about the obstacles; the real torture was running UP the mountain! We started with a little jog before quickly realizing that we would have to just walk/hike most of it. It was steep! There were only two obstacles on the way up, and those two were nothing compared to the hike itself. And the biggest slip and slide ever (among many other things that I have already managed t...

Meghann on the move. Your BFF will always call you out. August 12, 2011 at 3:58 pm Posted in food. Yesterday after my toast post. My BFF told me that she does not approve of my breakfast edit! She said it’s not smart to eliminate something healthy (whole grain toast, almond butter) in favor unhealthy things (cheese, wine, ice cream). Can you imagine? There she is. From the back to protect her identity, of course.). BFF thinks I can have the toast AND the treats, but sadly, my tush doesn’t agree. Enter yo...

Mike Fox's Marathon Blog: I Need To Get Healthy!
http://mikesmarathonblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/i-need-to-get-healthy.html
Mike Fox's Marathon Blog. Friday, February 12, 2010. I Need To Get Healthy! I'm still feeling rather blah and congested. That along with the fact that half the sidewalks in the 'hood are still not shoveled, I have not been running. I really need to get running back into my routine. Once I feel better, that is. I havent gotten into a groove for 2010 yet either. But I have little doubt that if I push myself until at least the snow is gone, things will improve. I cant wait for spring! Finally A Morning Run!

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Working (on) the weekend →. October 5, 2009. The past week has been insane. Last Sunday we had an 18 milers in the freezing rain. I was excited going into it – the weather brought me back to cold and muddy fall soccer games growing up (fun to be a player and not so fun to be a fan/parent. Right, Mark? Etc And, the surprise at the end was a cheer from Kara and Mark who just happened to be on 5th Avenue as we ran by towards the finish! So, how am I feeling today? In case ...

Meghann on the move. Scenes from the weekend. August 22, 2011 at 7:05 pm Posted in Thursday group. Kicked it off with 5 miles in Central Park with R2R and a special guest appearance by my friend Meredith. Friends, food, and glorious sunshine on Friday and Saturday. And went for my first Middletown run on Sunday! It was really beautiful. I wanted to do 3 miles but went 4.2 because I got a little lost. Better to do too much than not enough, I guess! Just another WordPress.com weblog. In the dark →. That was good, but it hurt. September 29, 2009. We woke up Sunday morning at 5:54 to the sound of pouring rain. This was the dreaded day the 18 mile Marathon tune up in Central Park. As if three laps of the loop wasn’t torture enough, we now had to do it in miserable, freezing rain. We did not take any walk breaks at all for the first 13 miles. I did a whole half marathon without stopping. I’m pretty happy. And then.the Wall! Chuck took me inside and head...

Notes from a plodder | RACING TO REMEMBER
https://racingtoremember.wordpress.com/2009/10/23/notes-from-a-plodder
Just another WordPress.com weblog. T-minus… →. Notes from a plodder. October 23, 2009. Early this morning I received an email alerting me to this article. In today’s New York Times. Training for a marathon is hard work, no matter who you are. It’s time consuming, it’s exhausting, it’s depleting. But the hardest part is convincing yourself that you can do it. Believing that you have the strength to get through 26.2 miles in the name of something bigger. I literally started from zero. On day one. That̵...
