icandyarn: June 2006
http://icandyarn.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Knitting socks and spinning sock yarn. Friday, June 23, 2006. I happen to be surfing for some raw fleece recently and came across a site that sold covered Cormo fleece and they are located in Montana. If you are not familiar with cormo fleece it is a fine and very soft fiber with even crimp. It is and has no second cuts, wow. I have never before been so pleased with the quality of a raw fleece as I am with this one. Not to mention how great the service is. Posted by icandyarn at 9:51 PM.

http://ragdollsandwoolies.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-takeover.html
RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES. Rag dolls and woollies. Rag dolls and woollies. Monday, December 8, 2014. Ever since beloved last Kid Number 3 moved out. I have been slowly taking over the whole house. I work mainly on the kitchen table and have taken over two kitchen drawers, one for body parts (for dolls, muah ha ha. I have a lot of toys. I have remade his room into my weaving room, with the floor loom and its accouterments. And there also resides my lovely treadle machine. How things have changed! Two Ashford...

RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES: Playing in Traffic
http://ragdollsandwoolies.blogspot.com/2012/07/playing-in-traffic.html
RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES. Rag dolls and woollies. Rag dolls and woollies. Sunday, July 15, 2012. I'd never leave home without knitting; this is true of most knitters, isn't it? There are always one and sometimes two projects in my purse, along with extra needles, markers, stitch gauges - and I know I'm not alone in this. There was recently something posted about a "knit in public day," which I found odd because I always thought that was everyday. If the stress of modern living, such as traffic jams, can ki...

RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES: The Uneventful Warp
http://ragdollsandwoolies.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-uneventful-warp.html
RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES. Rag dolls and woollies. Rag dolls and woollies. Monday, February 4, 2013. I like the title of this post - the Uneventful Warp. Doesn't it sound nice? Well, it has never happened for me. All my warps have been Major Events, Tangled Webs - a sort of theater in the round. Could have been a TV show entitled, "The Three Stooges Warp the Loom.". At the El Al counter in New York, they ran it through the X-ray machine. A nice clerk asked me. So I read Debbie Chandler's book on the plane, ...

RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES: March 2011
http://ragdollsandwoolies.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES. Rag dolls and woollies. Rag dolls and woollies. Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Will you look at This! 160; I look into the room several times a day just to check on It. I am fortunate that few people in Israel value the stuff I like. So far Ive found a loom, a spinning wheel and now this Beautiful Treadle Machine for a song! When I called the phone number on the ad for the machine, the fellow said, you know, the cabinet is not in good shape. He said, half wonderingly to himself. So I d...

RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES: Where Are They Now?
http://ragdollsandwoolies.blogspot.com/2012/12/where-are-they-now.html
RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES. Rag dolls and woollies. Rag dolls and woollies. Sunday, December 9, 2012. Where Are They Now? At this point, I think I've sold twenty dolls. They have been sent to Vancouver and Toronto, Hawaii, Colorado, Minnesota, Alabama, Washington state, and several areas on the East Coast. One went to China (! And another to Perth, Australia (! There is one in London, England. Six more are floating around Israel. And I've given away at least four more. So what names did they get? Eric from A...

RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES: January 2011
http://ragdollsandwoolies.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES. Rag dolls and woollies. Rag dolls and woollies. Sunday, January 23, 2011. Serious thoughts about cotton. Have you read Cotton: The Biography of a Revolutionary Fiber by Stephen Yafa? Sophisticated pesticides came on the market, thousands of sharecroppers were thrown out of work. He also says that "cotton has been responsible.for an ecological disaster of epic proportions in central Asia.". It was really disturbing to read all of this! Certainly not in such a destructive manner....

RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES: November 2010

RAG DOLLS AND WOOLLIES. Rag dolls and woollies. Rag dolls and woollies. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Marking Darts and Pins in Your Mouth. Wow I just got my sewing machine back from the repair guy. I had decided to get my money's worth out of the last oil job it received - eighteen years ago - and I must say it is like having a brand new machine! The thread isn't breaking anymore. It sews zig zag again. Wow. Here I am years (and years) later, sewing rag dolls for a living (sold five already! From Albie's ...
