Running with Jilli

Friday, July 03, 2015. Spending time with family and friends is important to me, so I'm hoping to get together with many people this summer. Earlier this week, I went for a walk and got coffee with Kelly, Robin stopped over on her way to the airport, Alix came over for half of Wednesday and yesterday I spent the day with Peter. The scenery was beautiful - lots of rolling farmland, old and beautiful barns, etc. Wednesday, July 01, 2015. But let's focus on the positive. The highlight of the trip came after...

Running with Jilli: Spoke Too Soon

http://www.runningwithjilli.blogspot.com/2015/03/spoke-too-soon.html

Sunday, March 22, 2015. It's snowing like mad outside right now. Rob is flying to Louisiana tonight to buy a new service truck and of course it started snowing heavily about 30 minutes before we left for the airport. The drive over to Jeremy's house was slow and slippery but the drive home from the airport was even worse. It took me an hour; twice as long as normal. 5 hours after it began, the snow continues to fall. Out like a lion,. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Running with Jilli: July 2014

http://www.runningwithjilli.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 24, 2014. Tomorrow is Friday, the dreaded last day at the Lake. It's been a good year, relatively small group compared to most other years, decent weather, and changes on the horizon. Remember several years ago when I hit the bird with my rental car and it was stuck in my fog light? Rob and I hit a bird on the way up to the cabin and it got lodged in the grill of my car. Poor little bird. Highlights so far (in no particular order):. Family golf scramble (Eddie's Eagles tied for 2nd place).

Sunday, April 05, 2015. Bring On the Sweets. Andy, Malinda and Triston spent spring break in Florida, so I left a little early to pick them up from the airport. Figured I could return the favor so many people have done for me. Enjoying a cocktail before the show. Regardless, it's been a good Easter season. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hangin' with the Haacks: May 2012

http://hanginwiththehaacks.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Hangin' with the Haacks. Wednesday, May 30, 2012. 2012 Summer Bucket List. Summer is quickly approaching, and I am so excited! Every Spring, I start dreaming about all of the amazing things that we can do in the summer. There are so many options! And every Fall, I wonder why we never did most of those things, and kick myself for wasting another summer! This year, I decided to formalize my ideas. Park w/ Wading Pool. Minnehaha Falls – feed the ducks. Visit Grandma and Grandpa. Attend a movie or concert.

Hangin' with the Haacks: Priorities

http://hanginwiththehaacks.blogspot.com/2013/03/priorities.html

Hangin' with the Haacks. Sunday, March 17, 2013. Last week, Samantha's Girl Scout troop leader asked her if she wants to play soccer with two of the other Girl Scouts. Sam and I discussed it in the car. The conversation went something like this:. Sam: "Will I wear a uniform? Me: "I think they do for games, but probably not for practice.". Sam: ". Ok, I'll do it. Because there is a really cute outfit at Justice [her favorite store] that says 'I heart Soccer.'". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Hangin' with the Haacks: August 2012

http://hanginwiththehaacks.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Hangin' with the Haacks. Monday, August 20, 2012. First Day of School. Well, it's official - summer is over. Today, the children returned to school. I am sad, exhausted and a little relieved (at least relieved that we got through the morning). We had everyone tucked in to bed at a reasonable time last night, but I didn't sleep well. Between my allergies, anxiety and the dog, I was up quite a few times. I'm ready for a nap! First Day of School! Fourth Grade (note the new glasses). Links to this post.

Me: You have to wash your hands after you touch anything that used to be alive. Alex: Oh, ok. There is a pause while she ponders the fact that our dinner used to be a living creature]. Ryan Hall – Running With Joy. My Journey to the Marathon. Training Tip: Energy Food. August 1, 2013. Many people run to lose weight, but I maintain a delicate balance of staying lean while still fueling myself well. I often remind myself when I am training hard that yesterday’s energy in equals today’s energy out. Living and training at altitude requires me to closely monitor my iron levels. I avoid calcium and wheat in conjunction with the iron-rich foods because they hinder the absorption of iron.
