Runnin' With the Schmidts. Monday, May 30, 2011. Having a Heart for Adoption. This is an extremely LONG post. If you're reading just to find out what's going on with the chili cook-off and silent auction, scroll to the bottom. Otherwise, don't say I didn't warn you! Not necessarily. Maybe it means becoming a missionary and serving at an orphanage caring for orphans. Maybe it means continuously being in prayer for adoptive families in their journeys. Or maybe it means financially partnering wi...I think I...

Gregg and his family grew up snowmobiling, but I had never been. He's been talking about going for a while now, but it's just never materialized. He finally decided it was time.time to get me out on my first snowmobiling adventure. I really didn't know what to expect and I was pretty excited! So Survival Lessons from today:. Jesus knew...

Runnin' With the Schmidts. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Man, I can't believe it's here already. Four years old! My little boy is growing up so fast - it's almost sickening to think he'll be in kindergarten soon, then grade school, middle school, high school - AAHHHH! Okay, let's slow down and live in the moment! Oh, Will.my first born. To take a phrase from a friend - "You made me a momma! Such a sweet boy! I love his energy - the boy never stops! I love his servant heart. He gets that from his daddy&#46...

Rummel Family: January 2015

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 8, 2015. December was a busy time of getting ready for Christmas. While I addressed envelopes for Christmas cards, Alex was working at school on his Christmas program. And Adam and Erin helped me bake lots of cookies! We drove to Jackson's for a day or two to play (we waited til New Years to do Christmas so Phil and Chelsey could be there) and then headed home. It was our first year home for Christmas. It felt so good to be home after being gone for 5 days! Tuesday, January 6, 2015.

Rummel Family: August 2013

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 21, 2013. First day of School! Alex started kindergarten last week and he loves it! It helped that the bus driver came by the house a day or two before school and they practiced how and when to cross the road. He even got to pick out his seat (they have assigned seats). And when we went to Meet Your Teacher night, we found that two of his friends from preschool were in his class! But Adam doesn't seem to mind Alex being gone all day, however we'll see how the year goes. We've had some r...

Rummel Family: July 2013

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 22, 2013. We put up a little pool for the kids over July 4th. They love it! It's been great since it's been so hot. But the other day we decided a trip to the lake was in order. :) I just took the kids for an overnight stay at Mom and Dad's, but it was a nice quick trip. The lake felt great and we even got to go down the water slide a few times. But mostly the kids just liked playing in the sand and rocks. :). This is a "Top Gun" plane. California, part 2 - Train ride. After the train ride u...

Rummel Family: June 2013

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 8, 2013. Alex started playing tball games a week before Memorial Day. He was so excited to get a hat and shirt that match! If you've never been to a tball game, they're a little slow but very entertaining! After the tball game we headed up to Warsaw to the Jackson's. Stuart and Barbara came from Germany for a visit, so that brought Phil and Chelsey too! It was so nice to meet Barbara in person and she will be a wonderful addition to the family. Alex graduated preschool in May too! Alex lov...

Rummel Family: October 2014

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Finally Adam's favorite time of year is here! Once Andy made it north, we drove to Mimi and Pop's house. The boys and Andy became farmers for the weekend. And boy, were they busy! So Monday morning they plowed some more. Erin even got to go for a ride and drive! Pop still has to harvest his beans and corn, but that can wait for a different day. The boys got to spend hours in a tractor and they loved every minute of it! Erin enjoyed playing inside with whatever she wanted! It's ...

Wednesday, May 28, 2014. So Alex wanted to make a rabbit trap. :) Who needs toys to play with when all you need is a box, some string, and a wooden block! It was a beautiful weekend and a nice trip. We cant wait to see them again! Hail on our back deck- it was about pea sized. Erin talks alot about skid steers- probably because Pop drives one. Alex and his rabbit trap. We spent Memorial Day at the beach! Can't wait to do that again! Tuesday, May 13, 2014. My spring flowers and a Magnolia tree/bush. We dr...

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Jan and Feb 2014. What can I say about Jan and Feb this year. Well, two words. Cold and Snow. We are thankful for our new house that has lots of room to run and play. However, even then the days get long and we are all looking for other things to do. As you see below, Adam takes to brushing a doll's hair! And after Alex got home from school we all bundled up and played in the snow. We also went for a walk, went swinging, down the slide, and even jumped on the trampoline! Had t...

Rummel Family: Long Trip - Battleship

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2015/05/long-trip-battleship.html

Sunday, May 3, 2015. Long Trip - Battleship. We took a spring break trip down to Alabama in April. Frankly, I was not looking forward to 12 hours in the car, but the kids did great! Alex is into anything and everything army right now. He loves guns, ships, planes, helicopters and tanks. So he was loving every minute of this stop. There was also a hanger with planes and helicopters in it at the park. And a US Submarine too. There were volunteers all over the ship dressed in their uniforms.

Rummel Family: Long Trip - Gulf Shores, AL

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2015/05/long-trip-gulf-shores-al.html

Monday, May 4, 2015. Long Trip - Gulf Shores, AL. Even with the poor weather, we really did enjoy this beach (and cant wait to go again). It had good waves to play/ride in and the sand was great to play in. Adam keeps asking when we are going back to the Long Trip Beach. :). As long as the thunder doesn't get too close. The condo we stayed in. The waves made a little ledge in the sand that was fun to play on. Our view from one of the bedrooms in the condo. Our sand castles that got rained on overnight.

Rummel Family: February 2015

http://aerummel.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 23, 2015. Thankfully we haven't had as much snow as last year. But we've still had plenty to keep us busy! This year Erin has enjoyed being out in the snow and going sledding. And the boys are finally old enough they can go sledding by themselves. So when Erin is done playing outside we go in to the sunroom and watch the boys sled down the hill until they wear out or I tell them they have to come in too. Basement living area - before paint. Missing TWO front teeth! Pslam one thirty nine.

Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Chick-fil-A Controversy. My Thoughts! Article about Chick-fil-A's President standing up for his company's Biblical views. Okay so I started making a status about this, but it started turning into a book so resorted to the blog that I am so far behind on! As I read this article, it stirred up so many different emotions that I am going to try to put in a somewhat organized manner. October 19, 2009 · 9:05 pm. Hello again running world! October 7, 2009 · 2:16 pm. Sitting on the Bench. I am still sitting on the bench after last weekend’s marathon. Mentally I am ready to lace up my sneakers and hit the trails but my body has lashed out with a resounding “no”! I am nursing bruised and bloodied toes and now cold sores have broken out on my sunburned lips. Some of you may ask why I even want to continue and the only answer I can give is that I have to…I love it! Sitting on the Bench.

The loose theme was "Thing One and Thing Two" which I have always wanted to do with twins. I mainly used the color scheme from the book, plus pink and a few Pinterest ideas. I think it all turned out pretty well thanks to some help from my family! Painted frames with memories from their last birthdays. Kickoff to Birthday Weekend. Gimpy arm and all. What I always wanted!
