London Gilding: August 2011
http://londongilding.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Friday, 12 August 2011. Posted by London Gilding. Sorry for the blog absence, I've been on holiday. This is home in Scotland and amazingly in the sunshine, yes it does happen! That's my grandmother in the last picture enjoying her garden. If the weather was always this beautiful up North it would be crazy not to live there. The fruit trees in the photos are extremely old. I am quite ashamed to admit that when I was little I climbed them all the time although I wasn't allowed to. Posted by London Gilding.

London Gilding: May 2011
http://londongilding.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 12 May 2011. I've adored these plants for many years. Surely no-one could resist a plant that looks so like a butterfly! Posted by London Gilding. Wednesday, 11 May 2011. I conserved the lacquer where I could on this piece and restored the missing areas. It's a delicate balance between restoration and conservation on a piece like this, and often it's down to finances. Really, I think all Urushi should be restored in China and Japan by Urushi artists, but then I'd never get this kind of ...The m...

London Gilding: April 2011
http://londongilding.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 26 April 2011. These were my swans when they first came to me. The gesso was filthy and all the gold had been completely worn away. There is no paint on the swans, just original gesso and fresh gesso where there were cracks and breaks. The gesso has been waxed to protect it. I hope they never get as dirty again as they were when they first arrived! Posted by London Gilding. Friday, 22 April 2011. Apparently lilies are Kate Middleton's favourite flowers. I think she might like these! Here I am wa...

London Gilding: June 2011
http://londongilding.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Monday, 27 June 2011. Sorry all for being so absent from the blog of late. I am now pregnant with twins, which is wonderful, but it does mean I'll be changing the business quite a lot in the coming months. I'll be giving up my Primrose Hill studio (sob! I LOVE my little place in the village, but I'll need a studio attached to my home as twinnies and a separate place of work is not going to be practical at all. Posted by London Gilding.
