We didn't get one last year with the chaos of being fairly new parents with both of us working, so this year I couldn't wait. We went to the Christmas tree lot and picked out the perfect tree. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Rusty and I had a grand escape for two days in Charleston right before New Years. Janie watched Gillian for us, which was such a treat. While I love being a mother, and missed Gillian despite only being gone two days, it was so nice to be able to spend time with just Rusty. We ate amazing food (Jestine's, SNOB and Hominy Grill were to die for! Took a boat tour to Fort Sumter (as seen behind me), visited Boone Hall Plantation, and shopped on King Street. What a great town, steep.

Thursday, October 7, 2010. For the LOVE of Blankets. We received some wonderful gifts from tons of people with the birth of Gillian. I was amazed, however, at how the new baby seemed to bring out the creativity in everyone around me. Who knew my family and friends were so talented? A lot of the craftiness seemed to take the shape of blankets. Gillian received some of the most beautiful blankets I have ever seen. She has knitted blankets (this one is from my friend Liz):. This morning we had a field trip to the zoo. It's a great zoo! Their primate exhibit was awesome. There were so many different monkeys, lemurs etc., including a gorilla with a pacemaker! This animal rode in the stroller the whole time. If you paid $3, you could feed the giraffe lettuce, but we didn't do this.
