What is a Rebar detailer? This is the main question that comes from people outside of the industry. All too often it takes an explanation which ties in the fact that concrete needs reinforcement, and the roles of the engineer, fabricator, placer, and myself. It goes something like this. I rarely get to see anything other than the plans and specs on a job. So it is nice to receive photos from contractors, engineers etc. But as you can see that doesn't happen very often. There is so much of concern on a project, that forwarding pictures to a rebar detailer does not register. You will be a hero! Uh or a heroine! Not a long list :-) Pretty much like all rebar detailers, I will provide placing drawings, in accordance with all the acronyms (i.e. - CRSI. Tell em Nighthawks sent you! Several years ago, we chose. AutoCAD software for preparing placing drawings. Last year we removed the drafting tables and since have been detailing 100% of our work in electronic format. We have a couple of customers who still want hard copies, but other than those, we submit drawings via email or ftp download, in.
