Hello and Welcome to my journey. 8230; In December 2015 I will turn 60, according to BAA rules qualifying times to run the Boston Marathon are based on the age you will be the day of the race. Ruthanne's journey to qualify for Boston. It amazing what you can accomplish when you give yourself permission to try! Cape Cod Marathon not quite what I was hoping for but I finished. Hurricane Sandy was threatening the coast but on race day the weather was overcast (which I like), 55 degrees and – according to the race director – winds around 30 MPH and not at our backs. Ruthanne's journey to qualify for Boston. It amazing what you can accomplish when you give yourself permission to try! Boston Marathon, Pittsburgh and Pineland Farms. About 8 weeks before Pittsburgh I finally found a coach. I had been researching various companies and individuals and their coaching philosophies. A couple minutes after the last of our runners went by our phones started going crazy – there had been an explosion at the finish line – and then another one – BOMBS! Boston Strong – period!
