Wednesday, July 8, 2009. July 4 at the Bloom Hotel. The most memorable experience of Rwanda in the early morning is noise, and plenty of it. Footsteps ring out on the cobbled sidewalks, deep voices call greetings above the ring of motorbikes, a rooster crows, doves coo, the radio from the guard house blares and horns honk, all before the sun rises! I wonder how long the smell of Africa will stay in my nose. Will I still smell it tomorrow or will it already be too familiar? Packed and Ready to Come Home.
