Robby's knee ended up being okay, but it did take him 4 hours to go 2 miles. So I murmured in my head the whole way down that I won't do this hike again. It's too hard, and my knees aren't cut out for this. But I have 5 girls moving up next year and I want to be the one pushing and cheering then on up the mountain. Thursday, June 9, 2011. We've been on a couple day rides to the sand dunes last month. It's so much fun now that everybody has their own 4-wheeler. We like to take long rides, fine jumps and bowls, and play "cat and mouse" through the trees. Carter and Mike jumping. Mike is measuring the distance between Josh and Hailey jumps. Monday, July 19, 2010. This is our first camping trip in a TENT! It worked out great. In the end, I did miss my trailer with a shower. And a potty, but I survived. :). February 23, 2013. Scullins come see us! We were so grateful to the Scullins who made the drive up from Southern Cali to see us. They are work-oholics so could only come for a day and a half….,but it was really great to see them anyway and we tried to make the best of our one full Saturday with them! We were exhausted as the adrenalin was wearing off after a week on the time change from Europe, and we had colds that were keeping us up in the night, so we were pooped out. Monday, June 4, 2012. We took the kids to Lake Tobias on Saturday. The weather was perfect and all the animals were out in full force. I couldn't believe how interactive they let us be with the animals. We took the "safari" and the animals would come up to us and we could feed and pet them. That is called a "hippie" cow on the right and below. He was real cute. The kids endlessly tormented those poor birds by chasing them. Addie pets an alligator. Wow, that place looks amazing! Our friend said one of the islands north of here, near Topsail, had 89 nests which is a huge number. Ocean Isle had 19 i think but it varies year-to-year. PPS Pictures were difficult as flash was strictly prohibited (the turtles would go towards it). But Ryan and my mom managed to get a few good ones.
