arborboy: September 2014
http://arborboy.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
A man and his love of nature, land and sea, art and culture, and personal adventure. Sunday, September 28, 2014. Longboard bliss the last two days. These are yesterday's shots. Today was better so I just surfed the whole time and never bothered bringing out the camera. Still, a pretty, glassy 2-3 foot. Sunrise, just after 7:00am. Enjoying all the layers. I do love the shots with all that contrast. As my friend Harry would say, "bang". Thursday, September 18, 2014. Wednesday, September 17, 2014. This morn...

A man and his love of nature, land and sea, art and culture, and personal adventure. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Day on the Sound. It was a fantastic start to the day, so you knew it was going to be a good one. And it was. Fun and inspiring, definitely what Mary and I needed. After our day jaunt in New England we caught a 4:30 back to Long Island. We lucked out with such a beautiful day to travel around. The day was sunrise to sunset but it felt so great to get out of town and get a breath of fresh air.

A man and his love of nature, land and sea, art and culture, and personal adventure. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Shrub ID: Edgeworthia chrysantha (coming into bloom at BBG). I was in the city at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for the annual horticulture trade show put on by the Metro Hort Group, Plant-o-Rama. It is always a great event and one of the bonuses is checking in on this paperbush ( Edgeworthia chrysantha. Which comes into bloom about this time of year. Witchhazel), not to mention Camellia japonica.

A man and his love of nature, land and sea, art and culture, and personal adventure. Friday, March 16, 2012. Cornus mas (cornelian cherry dogwood) in bloom. Is commonly known by most people as a cornelian cherry but it is not a cherry, it's actually in the dogwood family. Either way it is a great, easy deciduous shrub that can get to be a small tree if trained properly and one of the earliest shrubs in the landscape to make a real show before spring officially begins. Talk about flower power. I have yet ...

BICHOS: Onicóforos
http://bichos-v.blogspot.com/2010/02/onicoforos.html
