Ryton Carp: February 2015

http://rytoncarp.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 18 February 2015. After I put the phone down, the seed that Barry had sown into my head grew into an idea of putting all my efforts into fishing for Carp instead of Pike, the last weekend in February has always been good for Carp at Ryton for me so with that weekend only being a couple of weeks away there is always a chance! Ryton Carp: June 2014

http://rytoncarp.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, 19 June 2014. All set up and ready to catch. First fish was a small Perch and I allowed Cerys to stroke the fish and feel it's spiky dorsal fin, time for a quick photo and I was so surprised to see her pick the Perch out of the net to pose for a picture. My only excuse for the slow session was crap bait, the lack of maggots means that the fishing was a little slow, short attention spans drifted into colouring in pictures and seeing if stones floated! Ryton Carp: May 2015

Monday, 11 May 2015. Time to oil up! Just as the water starts to get warmer and a little oil can be ground baits and stick mixes, the local supermarket drops the price of it's hemp oil for one week, thank you. Time to stock up, £4.50 instead of the usual £6. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Time to oil up! The Lure of Angling. Clattercote Roach, Pike and Tench — Unexpecting. Piscatorial Pastimes!: May 2011

http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Monday, 30 May 2011. Back to the pit with Bream in mind! With Friday being the start of my half term I had decided to get over to the pit early doors and fish for the Bream and tench. Arriving very early I spombed some participles onto a patch about 40 yards out, and quickly set up my rods both onto this area. I was convinced that "the mistress" was going to give me a spanking this time, so sat back and prepared to take my beating! On the scales she went 8lb 12oz. First bream of the morning. A long quiet...

Piscatorial Pastimes!: June 2012

http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, 30 June 2012. New location, new PB perch! After about 30 mins I introduced my rigs, whilst feeding on regular basis. I waited about an hour before my float bounced and then dissapppeared. Slowly I tightened down and then hit into the fish. It flew off, in fact I thought it was a carp! The self take is not great but I like the one on the matt as it had better focus etc. Tuesday, 12 June 2012. When Keith suggested a road trip in search of pixies , I jumped at the chance. I have always enjoyed...

Piscatorial Pastimes!: December 2011

http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Friday, 30 December 2011. Few wets lines and new targets for 2012. It seems like an age since I really concentrated on blogging, for which to those who follow it I. I have been out and about but without a massive amount of quality fish being caught. Visiting gravel it's for zander with no results, the canal for stripe's when it's frozen etc. The most productive sessions that I have had, have been to small sections of the Avon at which I have caught some nice quality roach, dace and chub. Whilst fully rea...

Piscatorial Pastimes!: November 2012

http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, 17 November 2012. Bit of a catch up.bits and bobs. It has been a while since my last blog past but I have been out and about fishing. Lets see what I have done or should I say what I can remember. This brings to half term in which myself and my wife went away to Cornwall for the week, to Bude. I as always had packed some basic tackle, "just in case"? Bude canal. big perch warwickshire. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Bit of a catch up.bits and bobs. Piscatorial Pastimes!: April 2011

http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, 21 April 2011. Bream for the blackness. After deciding to give the perch on the cut a break, I focused my attention on the bream that I have heard come out to feed once the boats have stopped moving. With this in mind I ventured to the canal. As I felt settled I could not believe it when a bloody boat appeared at about 8.30, as far as was aware boats have an 8 o'clock curfew on their motors? Not only did it appear it turned around over my prebaited area.all good plans and all! After a very spir...

Tuesday, 10 August 2010. Bank Holiday Fishing Plans. Just wondered if the cov/warks bloggers had any plans for the bank holiday Monday coming up? The Occasional Angler: March 2010

http://theoccasionalangler.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Monday, 22 March 2010. On Sunday I took part in the Cod fishing challenge from Grimsby/Cleethorpes with my dad and uncle Ben. Ben works at the marina and has a lovely boat called the Coastal Surveyor. Tuesday, 9 March 2010. Jeff replied, this is when I hoped I had read up on the right place. Friday, 5 March 2010. Is it a sign? Last night I dreamt of a 10 pound bream - is it foresight for the weekend? Or just my wishful subconscious? Tuesday, 2 March 2010. Yes I know. its been a very very long time! I've ...

The Occasional Angler: September 2009

http://theoccasionalangler.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Friday, 25 September 2009. Saturdays big fish folly. On Saturday Jeff and I are revisiting Anchor Meadows in my quest of a decent fish. Our last visit produced Jeffs P.B. Barbel weighing in at 9 Lb. With my new John Wilson Avon Quiver itching to catch some fish and Jeffs promise of its caliber with good sized quarry, were off at 6 am for a full day! Thursday, 17 September 2009. 90% of eel population may of gone form our rivers. Interesting news story from the BBC this week. Wednesday, 16 September 2009.

The Occasional Angler: Reels

http://theoccasionalangler.blogspot.com/2010/08/reels.html

Thursday, 5 August 2010. This is my main reel for feeder fishing, it has a mammoth capacity taking over 350 yards of 15 lb line. I use 4 lb line with plenty of 8 lb backing line. This is fantastic for distance casting and has a rear drag system. This lives up to its nickname of 'the coffee grinder' with its distinctive noise made from its geared innards. I can't fault it! Loaded with 4.4 lb Drennan float line. 10 August 2010 at 14:58. Update for the Ryobi spool - I think that Masterline may have bought o...

Things You Need To Know About Kratom. Kratom also known as Ketum is the familiar name for a tree which carries the scientific name Mitragyna Speciosa. It is a plant native to Southeast Asia and it is often grown in the southern and central parts of Thailand, and less often in northern part. It’s this relationship between opium and Kratom that caused the tree to be prohibited in Thailand in early 1940s. As the use of Ketum continued to increase, it reduced the opium tax income collected by the Thai go...

Concert Review, Christmas 2009. NEWS - keep up to date. Members pay £42 per term. This fee includes about 10 rehearsal sessions per term and the performance. Members pay for the hire of music, at cost, and very occasionally are asked to buy their own music if for some reason hiring of a particular piece is very difficult. The choir normally sings 3 concerts per year. We usually attract audiences in the region of 150-200 and charge in the region of £10-£12 for admission. To direct their music. David c...
