Piscatorial Pastimes!: May 2011
http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 May 2011. Back to the pit with Bream in mind! With Friday being the start of my half term I had decided to get over to the pit early doors and fish for the Bream and tench. Arriving very early I spombed some participles onto a patch about 40 yards out, and quickly set up my rods both onto this area. I was convinced that "the mistress" was going to give me a spanking this time, so sat back and prepared to take my beating! On the scales she went 8lb 12oz. First bream of the morning. A long quiet...

Piscatorial Pastimes!: June 2012
http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 June 2012. New location, new PB perch! After about 30 mins I introduced my rigs, whilst feeding on regular basis. I waited about an hour before my float bounced and then dissapppeared. Slowly I tightened down and then hit into the fish. It flew off, in fact I thought it was a carp! The self take is not great but I like the one on the matt as it had better focus etc. Tuesday, 12 June 2012. When Keith suggested a road trip in search of pixies , I jumped at the chance. I have always enjoyed...

Piscatorial Pastimes!: December 2011
http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 December 2011. Few wets lines and new targets for 2012. It seems like an age since I really concentrated on blogging, for which to those who follow it I. I have been out and about but without a massive amount of quality fish being caught. Visiting gravel it's for zander with no results, the canal for stripe's when it's frozen etc. The most productive sessions that I have had, have been to small sections of the Avon at which I have caught some nice quality roach, dace and chub. Whilst fully rea...

Piscatorial Pastimes!: April 2011
http://piscatorialpastimes.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 21 April 2011. Bream for the blackness. After deciding to give the perch on the cut a break, I focused my attention on the bream that I have heard come out to feed once the boats have stopped moving. With this in mind I ventured to the canal. As I felt settled I could not believe it when a bloody boat appeared at about 8.30, as far as was aware boats have an 8 o'clock curfew on their motors? Not only did it appear it turned around over my prebaited area.all good plans and all! After a very spir...

The Occasional Angler: March 2010
http://theoccasionalangler.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 March 2010. On Sunday I took part in the Cod fishing challenge from Grimsby/Cleethorpes with my dad and uncle Ben. Ben works at the marina and has a lovely boat called the Coastal Surveyor. Tuesday, 9 March 2010. Jeff replied, this is when I hoped I had read up on the right place. Friday, 5 March 2010. Is it a sign? Last night I dreamt of a 10 pound bream - is it foresight for the weekend? Or just my wishful subconscious? Tuesday, 2 March 2010. Yes I know. its been a very very long time! I've ...

The Occasional Angler: Reels
http://theoccasionalangler.blogspot.com/2010/08/reels.html
Thursday, 5 August 2010. This is my main reel for feeder fishing, it has a mammoth capacity taking over 350 yards of 15 lb line. I use 4 lb line with plenty of 8 lb backing line. This is fantastic for distance casting and has a rear drag system. This lives up to its nickname of 'the coffee grinder' with its distinctive noise made from its geared innards. I can't fault it! Loaded with 4.4 lb Drennan float line. 10 August 2010 at 14:58. Update for the Ryobi spool - I think that Masterline may have bought o...
