Sackcloth Under Royal Robes

Sackcloth Under Royal Robes. Saturday, August 7, 2010. The darkness has swallowed me again. I sit in the gloom trying to remember the look of sunshine, but the memory does not come. Shadows, deep and unrelenting, entomb me with the tenacity of a tiger holding onto its prey. I die here, a little each day, my soul leaking hope like a severed vein. I try to stand, to seek an escape, but weakness has overcome me. The night will not let me go. I clutch at stones around me. A drop of moisture stings my face.

Sackcloth Under Royal Robes: The Curse of Shame

http://sackclothunderroyalrobes.blogspot.com/2010/03/ive-been-thinking-lot-about-shame.html

Sackcloth Under Royal Robes. Monday, March 29, 2010. The Curse of Shame. I've been thinking a lot about shame. Shame is a terrible thing yet it is so prevalent in the human race. Adam and Eve felt shame after they ate of the fruit and found themselves naked. They hid from God and covered themselves with whatever they could find. There is an old recovery adage that says, "We are only as sick as the secrets we keep." That is so true. What a horrible curse that is. No matter what others have told you! If th...

Sackcloth Under Royal Robes: February 2010

http://sackclothunderroyalrobes.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Sackcloth Under Royal Robes. Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Each Day a Gift. I think back on the many years of my life that I wasted before coming to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior. But on that day in September of 1997 things changed. I had a reason to go on. I had a reason to be hopeful. I stand on His word that, "He will restore the years that the locust have eaten! And each day since then, He has continually, steadfastly, meticulously, begun to restore those years. For this I am so grateful. At the tim...

http://sackclothunderroyalrobes.blogspot.com/2010/03/watching-someone-you-love-struggle-with.html

Sackcloth Under Royal Robes. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Watching someone you love struggle with depression is difficult. It is never easy to see a loved one in pain whether it be physical or emotional. In fact, I have come to believe that there is no pain like emotional pain. I know that losing an arm is painful. But coping with mental pain is so much harder. I'm not sure why. “The Red Balloon” | Steve & Betty

Sharing the Good News of Jesus! 8220;The Red Balloon”. You would think from the previous paragraphs that this is going to be about Granny and it partially is, but not solely. This is about my sister, who loved and lived and longed to stretch her wings and fly from the time I first recall recognizing her as a person. This is also the story of the Red Balloon . Twenty years ago and prior to my Granny’s death, Brenda had a wonderfully amazingly imaginative dream. Although in actuality, Granny’s knees were n...

Memories……… | Steve & Betty

https://graftedinbyfaith.wordpress.com/2015/12/13/memories

Sharing the Good News of Jesus! Memories………. My mother passed away this year. As my sister and I have rummaged through her “stuff”, memories have flooded our thoughts like a brook overflowing a beaver dam. Many hundreds of old sepia and black and white pictures have surfaced flooding us with thoughts of times that we had forgotten and some that we had never known. Some pictures brought smiles and others tears, but all brought precious memories of family. Newer Entry →. December 14, 2015 at 4:24 pm. Betty...
