Mississippi State University received reaffirmation of accreditation in 2003. SACS adopted new accreditation standards in 2004. The new standards changed the process of reaffirmation. The process is no longer based on an intensive self-study. Now institutions must provide evidence of continuous improvement through assessment and research-based planning. The major changes in the process are listed below. Self-Study Report (intensive writing) with extensive on-campus committee structure.
