The Sagebrush Sea

http://www.sagebrushsea.org/the-sagebrush-sea22.html

While often portrayed as a hot, barren, dusty desert, healthy sagebrush habitats are, in fact, a colorful and complex ecosystem where sagebrush grows in delicate balance with other shrubs, trees, bunchgrasses and wildflowers. The landscape is replete with lakes, rivers, streams, springs and wetlands, hot springs, alkali flats, salt flats, sand dunes, volcanic rock formations and mountain ranges. Produced over three years by a team of biologists and filmmakers from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology,. But in ...

Black Canyon Audubon News: April 2009

http://blackcanyonaudubon.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Black Canyon Audubon News. Birds and Birdwatching on Colorado's Western Slope. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Poem by Jim Harrison. I keep waiting without knowing. What Im waiting for. I saw the setting moon at dawn. Roll over the mountain. And perhaps into the dragons mouth. There is this circle I walk. That I have learned to love. I hope one day to be a spiral. But to the birds Im a circle. A thousand Spaniards died looking. For gold in a swamp when it was. In the mountains in clear sight beyond. Thanks to C...

On ly the brav est surv ived. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. It was early, I was mourning. This just to tell you, my air is short but the breeze comes out long.
