At Home with the Holmes: October 2011

http://saholmesfamily.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 26, 2011. They make it look so easy:. Tunnel to Towers Race and NYC Shenanigans. Four of us awoke bright and early Sunday morning and boarded the ferry to the starting line. Leave it to Scott. Back to NYC, this race is run by firefighters in full gear. It's really cool. And Army regiments run in it in formation. I loved this firefighter dad carrying his little man. There were also several school groups singing patriotic songs. The whole thing was an awesome experience. No, it's not.

At Home with the Holmes: March 2011

http://saholmesfamily.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 3, 2011. Who is the "Big" Sister? I know, trick question. Adam and Jane share a room. However, every night Adam goes to sleep in our bed and we move him to his own bed after he falls asleep. Why? Because if we don't the kids play their own version of WWF Smackdown into the wee hours despite repeated parental interventions. So, when we went to our bed to move Adam, we were a little confused. If you don't remember how we came to possess this lovely check, you can read about it here.

http://saholmesfamily.blogspot.com/2012/03/january-month-wherein.html

Thursday, March 29, 2012. January: The month wherein. Jane's love of storytelling actually pays off. She did an audio recording at Strong Museum about Christmas and won the drawing for a $100 gift certificate. I admit Scott is the favorite parent and relegate myself to photographer, cook and laundress. Jane declares she would like a baby sister. No, not the one she has! Did I mention they love their Dad? Paige follows the righteous path of Chipotle love. We have to leave Chipotle when this starts:.

Monday, August 22, 2011. Has it really been over two months since I last blogged? I wish I could say I was doing something important, but, alas, were simply enjoying our summer. I have many posts to come, but I thought I'd keep you entertained with a little performance from Jane. We had been listening to Cake in the car. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Review of Armor by John Steakley. I decided to write some reviews of books I love and those that have influenced me. The first book that came to mind was Armor by the late John Steakley. Armor is an unusual mix of space opera, war, and two redemption stories. The title comes from the full body armored suit the military wears. …. It is a such a relief to be done. Now for the second draft! I’m almost done! I need to update more…I know. So back just before WWII started Tolkien was asked by a German publishe...
