What knowledge is required? Sailing experience is helpful but not a must. Absolute beginner or prospective yacht owner? Everyone should get their money’s worth. If you want to charter Bare Boat, then you must have as a minimum qualification Day Skipper and the necessary experience. The Charter company reserves the right to refuse! What extra charges could arise? What do I need to bring along? When is the check in/out for the yacht? Are actual charts on board? Are my deposit/booking payments insured?

I was born in Southampton very close to the water and learnt to sail in the Solent whilst attending school. After 5 years I quit to go sailing for 2 years, upon my return it proved difficult to find a rewarding, regular position and the chance to teach English cropped up which as a freelancer allows me time enough to continue teaching sailing. Welcome to the East Lancashire Sailing Club Website. The reservoir was built in 1828 to solve water shortages in the adjacent Leeds-Liverpool Canal and covers 37 acres. There is a well equipped clubhouse with a comfortable lounge with commanding panoramic views of the reservoir, full changing facilities with hot showers along with a wet area for sailors to relax between races. Outside on the dinghy park there is room for 120 or more boats with access to the water via three concrete slipways.
