ADVENTURES FROM THE KINGDOM AFLOAT. How it all started. Follow this link to see a map. Of where we’ve been and where we are currently located. Like the rest of this blog, the map will be updated as we get Internet access. In addition, when under way we provide regular weather reports to the 14300.net. And they log our position reports to SHIPTRAK. Go to this map. And search for our call sign (KJ6BIG) to see our latest position. CONGRATULATIONS on your soon (july) retirement. Good well done. 🙂. ADVENTURES FROM THE KINGDOM AFLOAT. How it all started. Posted by: Sailing Camelot. June 5, 2013. Back in the Good Ol’ U.S. of A! As I write this post I’m realizing that we’ve been sitting pretty on U.S. waters for the last 15 days! I’ve been slacking, admittedly, but I have a valid excuse. A whole lots of changes happened within this short period! But before getting into all of that, here’s a recount of our dramatic return to the United States. Because, you know,. But just as we approached the entrance ...

ADVENTURES FROM THE KINGDOM AFLOAT. How it all started. Posted by: Sailing Camelot. February 13, 2013. Colon, Panama to Isla Providencia, Colombia. Oh, what a long, tedious and somewhat bumpy trip: a total of 284 miles in about 42 hours. Not our worst, but not our best by far. Maybe because it’s been seven months since we last did an overnighter, but we both feel quite fatigued after two nights on watch. Leaving Shelter Bay Marina, Colon, Panama on Feb 7. Portuguese Man O’ War. They’re not a single organ...

For the truth is that I already know as much about my fate as I need to know. The day will come when I will die. So the only matter of consequence before me is what I will do with my allotted time. I can remain on shore, paralyzed with fear, or I can raise my sails and dip and soar in the breeze."- Richard Bode. San Juan Islands 2010. A boat is never DONE. Monday, December 10, 2012. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. April 24-28, 2013 Agua Verde. We had a great sail to Agua Verde. It was 52 miles and took about 8 hours. There were hundreds of dolphins around the boat and I tried to get pictures and movies. We arrived in the southern anchorage about 5:30. The next day the wind was supposed to come from the north, so we moved to the northern anchorage. Trying out my new kayak. Pam on the SUP. Pam at the top of the climb to the Cave Paintings. Rick at the Cave Paintings. Cocktails on the beach.

DoolittleCruising: Former Floating Frat House Surgery and What Could Have Been
http://doolittlecruising.blogspot.com/2014/04/currentlocation-sacramento-ca.html
Friday, April 4, 2014. Former Floating Frat House Surgery and What Could Have Been. A recent event at the Frat House seems to have warranted a blog entry and reminded Ben and I to be grateful for something we tend to take for granted; our children’s health. So as the hours progressed, we anxiously, watched our child become increasingly ill. At one point our eyes met and without uttering a word, we concurred on one simple notion. This is not an exaggeration and we have no idea how it happened, but our chi...

Thursday, July 4, 2013. Big Fish, Little Pond-Traveling Up the Eastern Seaboard. Current Location: Annapolis, Maryland. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! The previous blog entry left off in Key West, Florida where we began our sail up the Eastern Seaboard of the good, old U-S of A. I had forgotten how different cruising is here versus foreign countries. One huge obvious difference is that well.…life is EASY! However, when we were REALLY stuck, Ben would enact the "We Need More Tipping! This involves using a line from t...
