Just Keep Sewing: October 2014
http://kbdesigns74.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 4, 2014. In Progress: B6104 (Inspired by Gucci). Last month McCall Pattern Company was sponsoring a Pinterest contest for Fall/Winter sewing inspiration. As I was combing the boards for ideas and filling up my own inspiration board, I stumbled across the Gucci Fall/Winter 2014 collection and fell in love. Grabbed by attention, as it has a similar collar and opening. The addition of the patch pockets wouldn't be an issue, but how closely did I really want to match the Gucci coat? Even af...

Just Keep Sewing: Progress in Organization
http://kbdesigns74.blogspot.com/2014/11/progress-in-organization.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. I still need to make the ironing board and make the base with casters, but so far. I am in love! DH came up with a possible tank holder fix, too. So stay tuned! Can you believe it? I was in shock when the customer handed me these. I couldn't hide the look of disbelief on my face, and she admitted that they don't look right. She pulled out the pair for her daughter's dress to compare and they are not only as poorly made, they are even wider? November 30, 2014 at 8:17 PM. Surplus...

Just Keep Sewing: Valentine's Dress
http://kbdesigns74.blogspot.com/2015/01/valentines-dress.html
Monday, January 19, 2015. DH and I are going to a dinner dance fundraiser for Valentine's and I'm so excited to make myself something fancy for once! Was a Christmas gift this year, and I'm loving it! I can't draw to save my life, but I can connect the dots. each page has 3 silhouettes, very faint and dotted silhouettes and you just have to draw the style lines on the figure! I found it on the Mood website and am so glad to have this new resource in the tool kit! So I grabbed some classic red silk taffet...

Just Keep Sewing: Faux Liberty Blouse
http://kbdesigns74.blogspot.com/2015/07/faux-liberty-blouse.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. I'll be perfectly honest: I love the look of Liberty fabrics, but not the price. When I came across this cotton print in a local shop this spring (as they were going out of business), I grabbed enough of it to make myself a pretty top. This is my second time making up this pattern. I just love the way the center front curves slightly at the neckline and the gathers in the button placket. You can kind of see the soft wide stripes here. That is a lovely shirt! Love the blouse and I t...

January 22nd, 2010 (10:00 am). Listening to: Nirvana - Lake of Fire. Etsy: Your place to buy and sell all things handmade. Hey look, a shop update! These are rare enough that I figured it wouldn't be too obnoxious to mention it. Guess what I've been doing? Making more buttons. And they are FREAKING AWESOME. I'm on the sand/polish/glaze stage, after which is the drill holes stage, then the photograph/edit photographs/post stage. Soon, though! December 3rd, 2009 (11:14 am). Which of you have etsy stores?

If a tree falls in the forest... - Corvus tristis: Art, Craft, and an Odd Bird
http://corvustristis.livejournal.com/45851.html
If a tree falls in the forest. December 13th, 2009 (11:43 am). Is one lonely fingerless glove a Knuck. I've come to realize that I'm a horribly slow knitter. While I may have gained some speed in the actual wrap-and-pull process of knitting, I have such a tendency to get distracted from or totally forget projects that my overall finishing rate has little improved from my first lumpy, shameful scarf (which took me somewhereabouts six months). Posted by: ( (Anonymous). From Leslie the Fiber Pirate. The Cro...

Book Review: Built by Wendy Dresses. March 3rd, 2010 (08:07 pm). Listening to: BBC News. Shortly before packing up to move to the farm, I won a book in a Clevergirl.org. This, I decided, would be my first book review. It is not, you may recall, my first attempt. My first attempt ended in disaster. When, after taking all pictures and writing up my thoughts, my computer literally melted, leaving me not with a beautiful review of Weekend Sewing. But instead a large brick of metal, plastic and disappointment.
