Embracing My Journey: November 2013
http://sarahelink.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
November 21, 2013. Who really wants to stand in an oversized net with balls being kicked at them from every angle? The soccer season ended with both her arms wrapped in casts. Perhaps a better story could have been told, but the truth was her Bolivian soccer coach had done this during a practice. A dive the wrong way by her and the strength and precision of a professional soccer players kick had this end result. But the season was over and she could heal. I believe that you can do this Sarah! Looking bac...

Communicator : Writer : Artist : Equipper. Skip to primary content. 6 Steps For Getting Things Done. July 18, 2013. So here are my six favorite strategies to keep my life from losing momentum and to keep myself on track. 1 – Know When You Work Best. 2 – Know Where You Work Best. Go somewhere with the intention of getting things done. Maybe that’s the coffee shop or maybe your home office works for you. But try new locations now and then to prevent becoming too familiar with a place. This will...Time flie...

Dave and Susie's Musings: October 2013
http://dasusmusings.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Dave and Susie's Musings.Stories from everyday life! RV Show and Friends. We finished our purchase and had to drive to the main gates of the fairgrounds instead of the 10. Street exit to get in as they had all kinds of construction going on around the Fairgrounds. There was a Horse show, RV show, Motorcycle swap and a Coin show going on. It was a zoo of people. We paid our money, $7.00 with the help of a $2.00 off coupon, got our hand stamped and started looking. And some with the coveted 4 steps. Wheel ...

Embracing My Journey: July 2014
http://sarahelink.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
July 11, 2014. Are you there God? Predisposed to anger I am trying to take all the pent up frustrations of this week and use them for positive. Which is why I scrubbed the bathroom floors and baseboards on my hands and knees, organized my kitchen cupboards, alphabetized the spices, cleaned, ran, cleaned, wrote letters, etc. Returning from a glorious vacation I was snapped back into reality when I realized my renter had fled the state and left his girlfriend squatting at my rental house. But God, why?

Embracing My Journey: February 2014
http://sarahelink.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
February 27, 2014. He sits across from me at the kitchen table, "You are still divorcing yourself from the past.". You cannot take years and years of things and poof they disappear. Well maybe you can, but I can't. I don't live in the past, but there are still things I am trying to reconcile. It's obvious I lack the grace to just let the pains inflicted where there should have been love just be. I wouldn't trade the scars for today. But there are things I need to understand in my heart. My choice.con...

Embracing My Journey: September 2013
http://sarahelink.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
September 26, 2013. Who Knew Santa was Mean? I was 14, working as a waitress in the summer at a Bible conference. Naive, unaware of my own beauty, oblivious I had talent, and enjoying freedom, I grew up fast. I made lifelong friends that summer and we hold hundreds of stories to tell. Yet, a thousand more to never share. It was a particularly busy week and I was serving three tables of 10 people each. At the head of one table sat an elderly man and his wife. But, he was not a jolly fellow at all! Sighing...

Embracing My Journey: April 2014

April 21, 2014. Choosing My Joie de Vivre. Whether it is forced upon us or chosen, it is hard. That's why most of us stay. Stay in unhappy situations. Settle for passionless jobs. Remain in unfulfilled or abusive relationships. Live in the confines of what's familiar. A few years ago that was me. On the outside I had it all. On the inside I was a shell. I could please everyone else or choose my own happiness. Most of us have this backwards. We do it all for others leaving nothing left to give ourselves.

Embracing My Journey: December 2013
http://sarahelink.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
December 20, 2013. Growing up in a glass house, I cleverly hid a lot! I knew what I could not be and created a version of me that fit what I should. My scarlet A was a PK and not a sign of shame, but of Godly status setting me apart. I was suppose to be different. Yet, I have my own Footloose stories locked away still. I am no different than the majority really. Most of us hide our scars. We feel imperfect as we try to live up to the societal expectations of. Beauty, emotional, life. The temporary feel g...

Embracing My Journey: August 2013
http://sarahelink.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
August 29, 2013. Squished in the sweaty mosh pit of bodies I never wanted to touch I stood with my hands in the air, singing and swaying to the music. The drum beats echoed through my ears making my head spontaneously bop in beat. Hundreds of us moved in sync from the pressure of the crowd. We far exceeded the amount of persons in a limited space. My hand was grabbed as my friend Amanda was lifted to crowd surf and she tried to grab me along. Glaring at a group of guys I said, "Move! Of all that life has...
