Witty Yet Insightful Title: Omnia Mihi Lingua Graeca Sunt
http://p-stewart.blogspot.com/2008/03/omnia-mihi-lingua-graeca-sunt.html
Witty Yet Insightful Title. Friday, March 14, 2008. Omnia Mihi Lingua Graeca Sunt. Yesterday, in a fairly crowded Weldon. After I got bored of looking silly and checked the things out in the manner of the previous century. For various personal and school projects, figuring out the foibles of the SMART Board. Software for another project, and considering seeing if I can pick up Python. For the last few days. It’s more or less what the title implies – a survey and discussion of the state of...Figure out, d...

Witty Yet Insightful Title: Showing the Extra Stuff
http://p-stewart.blogspot.com/2008/04/showing-extra-stuff.html
Witty Yet Insightful Title. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Showing the Extra Stuff. While it's often tempting - and fun - to think of digital history applications (or digital applications at all) as large, flashy, extroverted things laden with all manner of bells, whistles and gongs, some of the neater ones are just as likely to be subtler or halfway invisible. I recently came across a neat-looking equivalent of that sort of thing while catching up on various world events on BBC News. View my complete profile.

Witty Yet Insightful Title: Here, have a neat gadget
http://p-stewart.blogspot.com/2008/04/here-have-neat-gadget.html
Witty Yet Insightful Title. Saturday, April 19, 2008. Here, have a neat gadget. Just some mindless link propogation for the day. I recently stumbled over this link. A stroll around the ancient city of Pompeii will be made possible this week thanks to an omni-directional treadmill developed by European researchers. The treadmill is a "motion platform" which gives the impression of "natural walking" in any direction. The bulk of what I have to say about this one is "Cool! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Corey Everrett: The Successful Combination of History and Celebrity Gossip
http://coreyeverrett.blogspot.com/2008/02/successful-combination-of-history-and.html
Friday, February 29, 2008. The Successful Combination of History and Celebrity Gossip. I was introduced to the historical fiction The Luxe. In the Style section of last Saturday’s Globe and Mail. There was something very appealing about the idea of reading a novel for “blog research”, so later that day I visited Chapters. And purchased my own copy. I knew I had made a good decision when I read the blurb on the back cover of The Luxe. By Cecily von Ziegesar. This novel is an 1890s version of Gossip Girl,.

Corey Everrett: December 2007
http://coreyeverrett.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 17, 2007. Unlocking My Own Family’s Past Part I. Until recently, I had to be satisfied with the very little I knew about his wartime experiences. This changed when one of my archive assignments required me to make a reference tool for people trying to find their relatives' war time records (I have included this at the bottom of this blog). I learned that Library and Archives Canada. LAC) has a webpage called " Soldiers of the First World War- CEF Search. Which further deteriorated his al...

Witty Yet Insightful Title: Eye candy and the creation thereof
http://p-stewart.blogspot.com/2008/04/eye-candy-and-creation-thereof.html
Witty Yet Insightful Title. Monday, April 21, 2008. Eye candy and the creation thereof. I've been kinda banging the visualization drum somewhat this past year, in case it wasn't obvious. It's something I'm thinking of putting some more work into for the next few months, more along the lines of creation than simply use. There's also likely to be a substantial component of it in my summer internship, but that's as much excuse to get into this as it is reason. We were using in the digital history course.

Monday, January 28, 2008. Reinventing the Children’s Museum, One Monkey at a Time. Having been raised in Cambridge, Ontario. It is fantastic to see my hometown and the surrounding area, finally getting excited about the Children’s Museum. Which has outlined the reinvigoration of the Children’s Museum. In particular, one of the most recent articles by Raveena Aulakh entitled “He’s a Wizard in a Place of Wonder: Running a Children’s Museum isn’t Child’s Play”. To create an entire floor dedicated to a Digit...

Corey Everrett: Podcastic History?
http://coreyeverrett.blogspot.com/2008/03/podcastic-history.html
Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Class is making a digital exhibit on the History of the Sky. My group in particular is making a display that will inform the public about the History of Comets. The idea is that a visitor will touch a button on a globe, which will then project the computer program Google Earth. Today it was suggested to me that my group could look into making a Podcast. There are many Podcasts that grabbed my attention, and I have already become a subscriber to The Hour. Daring to Make History Fun.

Corey Everrett: "Life-Changing" Museums
http://coreyeverrett.blogspot.com/2008/01/life-changing-museums.html
Sunday, January 27, 2008. I only remember vague details about the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. But I clearly remember how visiting the spot had made me feel. Although I could not have been older than eight years old, the historical interpreters did a fantastic job of explaining the significance of the Boston Tea Party’s defiant behaviour, and the role that it had in leading to the American Revolution. 8221; moment, the point in time when my love for history had first been activated. I easily reflec...
