Thoughts in the garden at noon. Sunday, Jul 26 2015. It might even be me. As I tiptoe past those roses. Lavender burning my fevered skin. I know someone left these here. To quietly remind me to mourn. It may no longer matter. I am not sure anymore. Like weeds around sunburnt flagstones. I know of an undoing. And I wonder when. Like a half forgotten dream. In tender words once so certain (now unseen). Yes yes it has to be. This feeling of immense lightness. Nothing holds me fast (anymore). I am no longer.

Thursday, Jun 18 2015. Today we have so much to captivate us. Our smartphones and tablets, our endless supply of stimulus. I wonder what Papa would make of it all. He would have embraced it and taught me tricks. When I was growing up in the 1980s and 1990s our sources of stimuli were limited to good films, good books, good conversations… and to this list my father would add good walks. Do you notice the subtle shift? More recently at his Burmese posting, we went from Rangoon to Mandalay and beyond. T...

Thursday, Dec 4 2014. In flurries, in shadows. In the numberless dark. The days hurry past. Like a stray leaf. Falls at my feet. Life spills its charms. Some I quietly savour. Some in fury consume. Like a nameless tune. Falls at my feet. In folds of wonder. In furrows of care. Like a feather of my soul. Falls at my feet. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. My room, my thoughts, my learnings in life. This is a marathon – the battle against misogyny. Happy Festivities and Holidays to everyone celebrating. Melani Strachan's type casts…. November 24, 2011 in Thoughts and Feelings. Somewhere beyond words and meanings I found the poetry of silence beautifully spun in memories of your smile, the light from your eyes, glances of your soul. The words of such times go unspoken and are heard only in the whispers of the leaves as a gentle breeze breathes them along all the lanes where love once walked. Voice from another planet. Seasons | Printer's Tray

Melani Strachan's type casts…. December 13, 2011 in Poetry. I asked winter and winter said only in this cold and quiet mystery can you thoughtfully prepare to be renewed once again. I asked spring and spring said you need to be a child, wear blossoms in your hair to sing once again. I asked summer and summer said your table is laid in abundance, a festival once again my friend. I asked autumn and autumn said in rich hues of amber and ochre and reds you will find warmth once again. Do I still ask questions.

Melani Strachan's type casts…. July 17, 2012 in Poetry. Wait for me there. Where the sun slowly dies each day. Leaving a trace of a deep amber kiss. In the earth’s embrace. 8230; Wait for me there. Where the sea caresses the shoreline. With silvered fingers each night. An enchanted moon quietly beholds. Wait for me there beloved. In the soft shadows of silence. When this my journey ends. Melani Strachan's type casts…. March 13, 2012 in Poetry. You are almost a whisper. When I say your name. In a rhyme I make up when I play the game of blowing wishes. To flimsy floating clouds. I watch them drift away, carrying so much more than just a thought of you,. Will you look up one day as they come drifting by in your sky, tilting your head to read what I said today when I was missing you? Voice from another planet. Comments feed for this article. In perfect rhythm her bare feet. Stepped to make every beat of. Her anklets a magical melody. Entranced the audience were. Each time she slowly lifted. Another of the seven veils she wore. Her bangles shimmering as they sounded out. The gentle chimes of the music of her heart. And when at last the time came.
