Rok 2006 przeszedł oczekiwania gospodarzy łowiska. I to nie tylko pod względem sprzedaży licencji ale i ilości łowionych ryb. Początek sezonu nie napawał optymizmem: duże wody i stada kormoranów budziły obawy o losy ryb. Obserwacja żerujących kormoranów nie zostawiała wątpliwości że cześć ryb (zwłaszcza na Bachlawie) została zjedzona a miejscówka „wyczyszczona” prawie do zera.
