There are ten retention ponds around Sandy Ridge and these have to be monitored and treated to ensure they remain in good, healthy order at all times. The contract for the maintenance of all the ponds is currently with Aquatic Systems Inc. who are responsible for:. Algae and aquatic weed control. Grass control to the water's edge. Stocking and permitting for triploid carp. It is illegal to fish in any of the retention ponds.
