Sarah de Nordwall's Blog - Poetry Opens the World: The Historian's Tale, 5041 AD
http://sarahdenordwall.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-historians-tale-5041-ad.html
Tuesday, 25 March 2014. The Historian's Tale, 5041 AD. They say there was a type of human. Aeons of the ancient world ago. Whom they called Woman. Who remembers why,. But it is rumoured,. It was something like a goddess. And connected, if it can be properly believed. With the bringing forth of life itself. You ask me who believes such folly. Or how could such a strange thing be. But there are stranger things. Than we can see. Through science or philosophy. There was a word used to describe this human;.
Sarah de Nordwall's Blog - Poetry Opens the World: February 2014
http://sarahdenordwall.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, 6 February 2014. On Standing and Opening the Ear. Something may need welcoming into the world. But it has a quiet voice. And only you are listening. Maybe only you can hear that language. And not mistake it for the song of birds. You raise your head. Like a deer who hears the panther,. But not through fear of danger,. The wild thing cometh. And the world is wide. Integrity inspires in all its own response. And so, your sudden leap to the unknown lakeside. Within the glade beside the hidden wood.
Sarah de Nordwall's Blog - Poetry Opens the World: October 2013
http://sarahdenordwall.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 29 October 2013. Again the Sabbath comes to mind. Because it's quiet while God works. It's an act of faith. The not going anywhere. Not doing anything to make a visible change. And that's the point. Is a discipline of mind. An opening of the heart. Because the peace is all around. It's an act of hope. Not saying too much. Not expecting thoughts to change the essence of the world. It's a time of praise. For all that was before you came. And all that will be when you're gone. It's an act of love.
Sarah de Nordwall's Blog - Poetry Opens the World: August 2012
http://sarahdenordwall.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 18 August 2012. Or On looking out of the East Coast train from London to Edinburgh. Incredible how the sea dispels alarm. Arousing joy without a cause. A sight of inevitable bliss so inarticulate. And yet replete with messages and thrones. Then suddenly a monstrous thing. A squat and hideous robot,. Sits on the coast line like an ugly toy left out by troll children. Blind to the ravishing waves. A factory made of concrete blocks. A nuclear power station? Could one possibly say. Gives us a barn.
Sarah de Nordwall's Blog - Poetry Opens the World: Tending Paradise
http://sarahdenordwall.blogspot.com/2014/04/tending-paradise.html
Thursday, 17 April 2014. For Nick and Rachel, who gifted my friend Helen and I, with a weekend in their Artist's cottage. In Rye, which was rainswept, ancient, healing and full of enchantment. A place to enjoy creativity and much thought. Some time later, I attended a contemplative art day with Sr Sheila, who suggested we create some work on the theme of "Gardens". I remember that someone once told me that the word Therapy, came from the Greek and that it had three related meanings;. To honour the gods.

Tuesday, 23 August 2011. The Four Winds - Quatro Vientos. What duty and chaos dulled. In the concrete world. To touch the softening earth. Opens the heart of worship. And our souls revive. Around us the storm. Dies as our peace is quickened. And the Spirit rests. What is our bard work for? Watering the thirsty ground. Drenching the hard earth. Softening the soil with storm. Till the Spirit leaps. The ground of your own being. And you touch the Lord. Posted by Sarah de Nordwall. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Performance Poet, Sarah de Nordwall. What has poetry opened for me? The beauty of writing poetry is that you don't have to know exactly what you are talking about, at least, at first. But the opening line calls you. It has an idea it wants to convey to you and you must obey by writing the poem. Its fulfilment comes, though, in performance and through the reception and responses of those for whom it is performed. Sarah's first adventure on the piano. And that is what my life as a poet and bard is for;.

Thursday, 20 January 2011. The Heart and the Imagination - making the link. This saturday at Bardschool we are sharing our work and looking at the theme of the Heart and the Imagination, as the theme for this term is Lev, the Heart in Hebrew. Last term was Teshuva - the return home, and next term is Kadosh, the Holy. Obviously all these themes are profoundly linked, but what does that have to do with our work and progress as artists of many genres? But what is form? To tend a garden. To honour the gods.

Sarah de Nordwall's Blog - Poetry Opens the World
Tuesday, 3 June 2014. They came for you at daybreak. When the war crept out of the darkness. To make the morning into a hell of hatred. They came for you in old age. When euthanasia seemed like a merciful option. You were always ready to serve. They came for you in middle age. When the younger version of yourself. Was set up as an idol to destroy you. You were always ready to forgive. They came for you in your shining youth. When they offered you everything but fidelity. How ready you were to let go.

No More Than Nothing At All
Sunday, August 10, 2008. It takes The Village to raise a child? But a Village homegroup doesn't go away. Even when you get tired and you want it to. It is, by design, an environment when you begin to "do life" with others. It is a permanent investment in real relationship. It will grow and change, and people will of course come and go. But the mindset is that of lifelong commitment. Someone in my family said "Oh, so its like a Bible Study Group? Thursday, August 7, 2008. I guess that is why it is hard to...
