Monday, July 21, 2008. I have always wanted to take pictures at the Tongan funerals I’ve attended because they are such momentous occasions but have never felt comfortable doing so. Saturday, December 6, 2008. Wednesday afternoon there was a “koniseti” concert where I was able to dance around to some classic Tongan hits with the kiddos one last time. Thursday was the “Misionales” at the Church of Tonga, and was where I attended my last church service in Tonga and ate at my last “kaipola”. Needless to say, our old homestay families were extremely surprised and pleased to see us, albeit briefly! Monday, December 1, 2008. Tongan children continuously amaze me with their ingenuity. ...

Steve's Adventure with the Peace Corps. My Stories about Peace Corps and the Kingdom of Tonga. Friday, November 28, 2008. I am thankful that I live in a wonderful place surrounded by people I really like and I'm doing something that I enjoy. On Thanksgiving day, I joined 20 fellow Americans in celebrating Thanksgiving Day Tonga style. We had a great meal with turkey and all the trimming. A special treat for me this year was the addition of Cinnamon Pie to the dessert menu. Cinnamon Pie is a Hunsicker...

Sarah and Her Family

Sarah and Her Family. Sunday, February 19, 2012. Christmas was really fun this year.  The kids are getting older but are so much fun.  I love Christmas day.  This year it fell on a Sunday, which I actually love.  Our church is at 9 am so it made for an early morning, but we had a great day.  Ivie and Bo both asked for new bikes and Claire asked for a triplet doll stroller. We all got ready for Church and the kids looked so great in their new Christmas outfits. We went to the Healing Field in Sandy.&#...

Living in South Korea

Living in South Korea. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Our first dinner in Seoul. Traditional Korean meal everyone eats from the same dishes, and if you run out of something they will bring out more for free. Inside of the restaurant. Alleyway in front of the restaurant. Inside of the restaurant. Three things: Fried mushrooms, fried pieces of the center of the lotus flower, and fried slices of potato. Dessert: sugared rice cakes. My new outfit that I bought in Seoul! The whole gang: Vicky, George, Furio, me.
