I got a phone call in early May, on a Monday afternoon, from a former coworker at World Vision Canada. He had heard about a position open at World Vision Burundi that he thought I would fit well with. They needed someone right away, would I be interested? Thank you for taking this adventure with me. One day, a short time later, the goat-man and his friend were back in the market and the man from the neighbouring village came by. He bought the goat-man (again) and once he had handed over the money he pulled out a knife. What are doing with that knife dear sir? Asked the goat-man's friend. Said the man lifting up the knife.

In most ways my life here in Bujumbura is not that completely different than my life in Canada. I get up in the morning, go to the office for 7:30 until 5pm (long day! Ready to spend the afternoon on the water. Rockin' the lovely orange life vests. We saw three different families of hippos for a total of almost 30 different individual hippos!
