Zach Hall - Biathlete: November 2010
http://zhall-biathlete.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Zach Hall - Biathlete. Saturday, November 27, 2010. Whiteface Mountain, Adirondack Region, NY. The highly variable weather in early November graced us with a grab-bag of 60 degree days and then a few when the temps dipped below freezing and we had a skiff of snow and ice on the ground. My training progressed smoothly despite having to be extremely flexible with working our sessions around the whims of the weather. The East is always temperamental, but Global Warming/ El Niño. Sam Dougherty: February 2013
http://samdougherty.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 5, 2013. This is What's Going On Right Now:. 1 - I'm back in shape and feeling faster than ever. First thing I did when I got off the plane: got back in shape. 2 - The skiing in Montana has been like this for months now. The moment things start to melt, it snows another 4 inches. A little like heaven on skis. 3 - I've had some successes in some local races recently. Junior National Qualifier races with my personal wax technician Kyle. At this rate I'll be done with them all by next year.

Sam Dougherty: March 2013
http://samdougherty.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 24, 2013. Mammoth in Pictures Final Day. After helping out with the first three races of the day, it was finally our turn. As much as we all joked around as to the importance of this race, once you toe up to the line, there's only one thing on your mind: Win. We gave the spectators a good race, keeping it close until the end. And thus began the hurt. This course was tough, but super fun. The elite crew at the end of an awesome biathlon weekend. Loading up the range into the snowcat. Saturda...

Sam Dougherty: Biathlon
http://samdougherty.blogspot.com/p/biathlon.html
There are five race formats used in Biathlon Competition. Race distances are dependent on age class and venue. At the finish the total amount of penalties are added up and a one minute penalty is added to the finish time for each missed target. This makes shooting very important, because it is very difficult to make up one minute skiing on a competitor. Text courtesy of Jay Hakkinen. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Montana State Ski Team. Sam Dougherty: Yet Another Life Experience During School....
http://samdougherty.blogspot.com/2013/04/yet-another-life-experience-during.html
Monday, April 8, 2013. Yet Another Life Experience During School. You might be wondering "Wow, why is Sam in Alaska right now? I thought he was going to school in Montana or something.". Well let me tell ya. Don't worry, I'm still going to school and skiing at Montana State. Classes get out in May, but I found the time and generosity of my professors for one last adventure before summer break. During my 24 hour layover in Anchorage, I got to go out and ski on this. Kincaid at it's finest. In April. This ...

I'm happy to be heading back to Lake Placid for about a week to give my legs a rest and get ready for the final three competitions of the season at the US National Championships in Fort Kent, ME. We race March 18, 20, and 21 and then it will be time for a couple weeks of down time before the 2010/1011 training season officially kicks off.
