I survived the Zambezi.twice. And other tales from Africa. Thursday, September 22, 2011. Our first day in Pemba. We arrived in Pemba at 2 pm and made it through customs okay (super small airport). It was unfortunate that no one warned me that they would take my picture for my visa. I was looking pretty shabby in my baseball cap and even worse when I had to remove it for the photo. Now I have an ugly portrait stuck on my passport accompanying my visa for the rest of my life. Lesli and me at Kauri Resort.

Nearly two years ago, one of my best friends, Bekki, dropped the bombshell that she and her husband, Alan, were moving to Africa for Alan's work. As soon as she finished vet school in May 2010, they made their home in Pemba, Mozambique, on the east coast of Africa. September 20, 2011 at 10:31 PM. Cant wait to relive our vacation!

Thursday, August 4, 2011. 3D at 28 Weeks. I was thrilled to get the opportunity to do a 3D ultrasound with my friend, who did an amazing job! It was also nice to know that the bulge by my ribcage is definitely a booty and for right now at least she is head down! Larry says she looks like me, but I think she's a perfect combo of us both. Either way she is absolutely adorable, I can hardly stand it.I can't wait to hold that little one in my arms! Yes that is her toe touching her forehead! 3D at 28 Weeks.

Friday, September 23, 2011. Happy 2 week birthday Reagan! This has been a really exciting week as far as her progress. The biggest thing is that she is out of the incubator! This makes it so much easier to hold her and love on her. Reagan has been maintaining her temperature well and gaining weight daily. She is up to 4 lbs 9oz and growing! She was definitely cracking her mom and dad up.she makes the most adorable faces! Better than 0 REM cycles! Saturday, September 17, 2011. Eatin well and livin good!

Wednesday, October 20, 2010. For my brother Trevor, two B.As and one J.D. is just not enough letters behind his name. After law school in Kansas, Trevor was accepted to University of Texas' L.L.M. program and had a few M.B.A. classes thrown in for good measure. What can I say, the kid is educated! He's super aggressive.gee I wonder where he learned that.and seems to have a lot of fun out there. Now I have seen first hand how strong a mother's love is, as my mom wore a UT sweatshirt! All you need is LOVE.
