Laquo; A Red Wine You Don’t See Too Often. SILVERTONE, Downtown Boston. Restaurant News-SASSO, Back Bay. Although we last went to Sasso over a year ago with less than stellar results, after reading last weeks issue of the Improper, I think I will move it back onto my ‘go to’ list. Why, you ask? FYI, their sister restaurant is Lucca in the North End on Hanover Street. Although usually very good it can be a little pricey (maybe yet another review to come.). As always, LETTUCE know. Librarian on the Run: April 2011
http://got2trotlibrarian.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
I'm a 36 year old librarian who loves to run, read, do yoga and hang out with my friends and family. I ran the 2008 and 2009 Boston Marathon for Team Eye and Ear to support the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Go Team Eye and Ear! Saturday, April 30, 2011. Yeah Baby, yeah! These fliers are all over Southie these days. Taped on the same poles that advertise the M.O.M. Stroller Workouts. Who knew Southie was such a swingin place? Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T. Although we last went to Sasso over a year ago with less than stellar results, after reading last weeks issue of the Improper, I think I will move it back onto my ‘go to’ list. Why, you ask? The new head chef at Sasso has quite the resume, and is tempting us to book a return visit. Anthony Mazzotta has worked in restaurants all over the country: in such culinary monuments as Thomas Keller’s French. As always, LETTUCE know. March 9, 2009 by. Just a quick...

Laquo; Older Entries. March 27, 2009. So, it was my birthday two weekends ago, and my wife surprised me with a homemade brunch…. It was pretty good, so, I thought I’d share the recipe with you…. Banana and Chocolate Chip Pancakes. 1 cup flour (all purpose is fine). 1 TB light brown sugar ( not. Regular, it will be ‘packed’ too hard). 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Butter flavored cooking spray. Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream, and of course (hey, it was my birthday! To drink, we...

Archive for March, 2009. Laquo; Older Entries. March 30, 2009. E and I served this soup as an appetizer at the lunch we volunteered to cook last weekend, and I think it was well received. It was a simple, flavorful soup that can easily be made at home. We cooked for 50, but here is a version you can try that will serve 6 to 8 people. 1 package (2 oz.) dried mushroom (porcinis or morels). 1/2 Cup red wine. 1 pound white button mushrooms: cleaned and thinly sliced. 1 large yellow onion: thinly sliced.
