Enough Money to Live on. We want enough money to live on. We need more money from AISH. And we need to keep more money from jobs. We need rent, utilities and transportation to cost less. To get these things, we need to talk to MLAs. We can tell them what it means to have so little money when things cost so much. We need to tell them what would help. We want a clean environment. We can do many things to save the planet. We can recycle or give things away if we do not use them any more. We can put garbage where it belongs, not litter. We can have a clean-up day in our neighbourhood and invite others to help us. We can clean and take our bottles and milk cartons to the bottle depot. We can try to use less water and power. The group has met to talk about what we will do and how we will work together. We will have an email address and a website later in 2011 to keep people up-to-date about the network. Someday we may have a newsletter for people who want it. Says we are a united Alberta network that learns about issues and advocates passionately for positive change in society.

Self-advocates work together to make life better for everyone. Self-advocates work hard to make a difference in their community. Why Is Self-Advocacy Important? People with developmental disabilities are the experts on their lives. If you do not speak out, you cannot make a difference.
