Sunday, September 30, 2012. Our Mid-West Summer Vacation. We had a wonderful mid-west summer vacation this year! And we learned something new - when you camp in the mid-west, you can't expect the same beautiful sunshine that you do in So Cal! Our vacation began with Family Camp at Camp Harvest just north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It's a beautiful camp and we had a great time getting to know some other families from our church. Micah enjoyed trying out the archery range. Ashlyn and Daddy She didn't want ...

The Scroggins Family: January 2012

http://savedbygr8ce.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. What a Difference a Year Makes. As I was going through our pictures from 2011 I came across this picture of Micah and I at the end of last January. We had been at the Butterfly reserve north of Santa Barbara for a field trip. As we were heading home, the weather was so beautiful that we made an unexpected stop at the the beach in Santa Barbara and played in the water for a little while. And one year later, we had another unexpected adventure. Lots of fun! So where did we go?

The Scroggins Family: October 2011

http://savedbygr8ce.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 6, 2011. Man plans his ways, but the Lord directs his steps. When we moved to California, 13 years ago, we did so under the premise that it was temporary - just long enough to get Nathan through his undergrad degree. But once that was finished, the Lord led us on to seminary. And after that, a position at the Master's College. Once we had been here so long, we just felt settled. A great job, a great church, and wonderful friends! Why would we ever leave? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, June 12, 2010. Finishing up the Tball Season. After 10 games, Micah's first T-ball season came to an end. He had a great time playing this year, and is looking forward to playing again next year. Throughout the entire season, his prayer request remained the same. "Mama, please pray that we will win our game on Saturday." He still doesn't quite get the fact that everybody wins in T-ball. Got the ball and heading to the base. Micah's last at-bat of the season. What a great season! Over Memorial D...

The Scroggins Family: November 2011

http://savedbygr8ce.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 26, 2011. Thirteen years ago, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, two "kids" loaded up a U-Haul truck and headed west, from North Carolina to California. We were so young, and we had such dreams about what we thought God was going to do. It's hard to believe that was 13 years ago! Before we left California, my sister made me a book and included the words to this song. I love it as it describes so beautifully, the way our hearts feel right now. Saturday, November 19, 2011. The Scroggins Family: August 2011

Saturday, August 20, 2011. My Baby's Growing Up. It was a joy to celebrate Micah's birthday this summer! But I have to say, "I can't believe my baby is growing up! He keeps telling me it won't be long before he'll be taller than me. And I'm sure he's right! I love to remember those days when I could hold him in my arms and everything was so new! But it is so much fun to have a 7 year old to interact and have fun with. Every day is filled with adventure and crazy new ideas. I love his imagination!

Star Spangled Adventures: The Parade

http://calspangler.blogspot.com/2011/10/parade.html

Keeping you up-to-date on our exciting lives. Monday, October 17, 2011. This year, instead of marching, Greg took Scott to the sidelines and played spectator. Much better for pictures, I must say. Here is the front of the parade as it advances down the street. Keep in mind, by "parade" I mean bagpipes in front, playing away, a scarecrow on stilts just behind, and then a mob of little girls in butterfly wings and just as many parents. Oh, and dogs too. There are plenty of dogs in the parade.

Star Spangled Adventures: May 2011

http://calspangler.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Keeping you up-to-date on our exciting lives. Saturday, May 14, 2011. Our new town just likes an excuse to party. In May, they call it "Main Street Days" and they shut the street down for the weekend, throw up some booths and a little carnival, and watch the people come. Since it is right down the road from us, we just couldn't resist. We realized it is exactly the same as " GrapeFest. In the Fall, but without the wine, and without the heat. So "Main Street Days" wins for us! She sreamed, she looked up l...

Welcome to the Reading Chair. Monday, March 30, 2015. Lately I've been doing a lot of DIY projects. I've made my own lotions, hand sanitizer, facial moisturizers, laundry detergent, bug spray, diaper rash cream, magnesium oil, toothpaste, mouthwash, allergy bomb, car freshener, eye shadow primer, and I have a lot more on my list that I want to make. Tonight I am making Kombucha. I've made it before but it didn't taste right so I threw it out, scoby and all! I believe it all starts somewhere and for me it...

Tithing: A blessing or a curse?

Do you know that tithing was never commanded to the New Testament believer? There are no scriptures in the New Testament Commanding the New Testament believer to tithe. If you support tithing, I challenge you to find a New Testament commandment to tithe. You will not find one because it doesn't exist. Everything else is a distraction. Read the following scriptures given to the New Testament believer regarding giving:. For God loveth a cheerful giver. To meet the tithing requirement. Furthermore, tithing ...

A light shining in the darkness

A light shining in the darkness. Thursday, May 04, 2006. All that we are, all that we have, all of our being, all of our substance. We all came from God. The God of the Bible. The God of all creation. But all we like sheep have gone astray. A once perfect creation. Marred by the terrible guilt and stain of sin. Created for the purpose of serving our Creator God. To honor Him with all of our being. To do that which pleases Him. Yet we do not obey, we do not serve Him as we ought. To wash and cleanse us.
