Jason's Shiny New Cow Valve. Saturday, August 30, 2008. Yesterday was full of every emotion. But mostly thankfulness that Jason is doing so incredibly well. My biggest job in the next coming weeks is to make sure he gets the rest that he needs. I have instruction from Sue, Dr. Balkhy's. But he does have a low grade fever that needs to be watched closely, his blood counts are low and his heart rate is high and we are still managing his pain. It is 2:30 am as I write this and he has not slept yet. No visit...

Jason's Shiny New Cow Valve. Tuesday, July 29, 2008. A Slight Change In Plans. Today is Tuesday, July 29th, exactly 29 days before the surgery date. Or at least I thought. Just received a message from my surgery's secretary, requesting a change in my surgery date from Wednesday, August 27th to Tuesday, August 26th. The surgeon's son is heading to college on the 28th, and the surgeon likes to see his patients the day after surgery to see how they are progressing. So why is this freaking me out so much?
