Whew It's that time of year to let out a sigh of relief that you survived the holidays! Every year I decide to have a simpler holiday season starting around October, but somehow I get sucked into this insane frenzy of planning, cooking, shopping, and traveling. This year we did make an attempt to stay home and make the family come to us. That will be much better.right? But we didn't have to drive anywhere, right? Couldn't resist this sock from Pottery Barn Kids. Felted penguin ornament from West Elm.

Zoey: newborn, age 1, age 2. My little Z turned 2 in August. She keeps me so busy that I never have time for blogging anymore! We had her photos done a few weeks before her birthday by Angela Fisher. She shot her in downtown Tulsa. They turned out amazingly well considering that she ran around the entire time and wouldn't sit in any of the little scenes she set up! My little homemade cake. Blue jello with Swedish fish. Zoey got a little kitchen from my parents and we got her a playhouse and a tricycle.

December 13, 2012. I mean do you ever, er, um.how shall I put this. Smorgasbord. Turns out there's more to it than just a wintry all-you-can-eat free for all. There are actually three different courses requiring three separate trips to the buffet table. I totally called the pickled fish thing though. And this being the 1950's, you just knew there was going to be some tomato aspic. And now I know! My good friend Heather of Audrey Eclectic. More amazing news this month.I found out my little plushies will be features in Stuffed Magazine. By Stampington and Co. I submitted several softies in August, and they chose a Sock Buddy, a Russian doll, and some little felt owls for the upcoming issue, Winter 2013. The magazine is only about softies! A Glance at 2013. I decided to only do two shows this year. Alliday and Indie Emporium. They both happened to be two weeks apart during the holidays. Crazy! I don't know how people do the every weekend show circuit. It's too much work for me! I'm not disciplined enough to gradually build up and inventory, so it's a mad frenzy in November and December. Time to end my crafting hiatus! I usually let myself have a vacation in January since December is always insane. I had two unexpected Etsy orders right before Christmas that were due in January though. One was a group of 10 mini Russian dolls for a little girl's birthday party favors. Cute idea!
