My Drama in Takahama. Thursday, February 10, 2011. There is, in Japan, a somewhat unique form of cross country racing called Ekiden 駅伝. Unlike most cross country races which are set distances and run by individuals, ekiden is run as a relay race, with each team member covering a different part of the course. In my case, I called up some local JETs and told them about the mini-hike happening in my town on the 五足の靴. Gosoku-no-kutsu) trail, a roughly 5K hike through the hills and forests along sea coast.
