现有 应用物理学 本科专业和 凝聚态物理 、 理论物理 、 光学工程 、 物理电子学. 设有 近代物理实验室 、 应用物理实验室 、 大学物理演示实验室 、. 应用物理系面向全校的理工科及部分文科专业的本科生开设有 大学物理 、 近代物理与高新技术 、 近代物理实验 、 物理与艺术 等不同层面的课程 面向 应用物理学 专业开设有力学、热学、电磁学、光学、原子物理学、分析力学、热力学和统计物理学、电动力学、量子力学、固体物理、介质物理、半导体物理等课程。 另外面向研究生开设有 高等光学 、 高等量子力学 、 凝聚态物理 、 薄膜物理 、 激光物理 、 近代光测技术 、 非线性光学 等课程。 在学校举行过的两届教学观摩评比中， 2人获得一等奖 在校教学评优中3人获得一等奖 在省高校物理教师 上好一堂课 的活动中，3人获得二等奖。 编写出版了 大学物理学 音像文字结合教材 、 工科物理教程 、 近代物理与高新技术 、 物理与艺术 等教材。 教学中改革传统的教学手段，编写了 大学物理电子教案 、 近代物理与高新技术电子教案 、 物理与艺术电子教案 等多媒体课件，全面采用多媒体教学手段。
