Have genes will travel

Have genes will travel. Thursday, August 13, 2015. All the reports I saw on Friday predicted rain for Sunday, but we lucked out. Not that it was sunny at all. Not wanting to hike in the gloomy woods, we said we'd get out of the car for a walk up on the heights. We did stop, and walk about 10 feet from the car, and then got back in again so M could show me some delightful little parish churches before they locked up after mass. Look, here's one! M would have been happy to tour every church and abbey on th...

Have genes will travel: March 2015

http://sciencegirltraveler.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Have genes will travel. Monday, March 30, 2015. No, still no Spring photos. Got home yesterday and drank nearly half a bottle of champagne. I think M was disappointed I wouldn't accompany her to the end of the bottle, but I had reached my limit and I really don't like having a headache for a whole day afterward, and she's the kind who will not refill her glass unless you do too so there is a bit left in the fridge. Oh, keeping you in suspense, am I? Yes, that's bridge. Links to this post. I'd love to get...

Have genes will travel: July 2014

Have genes will travel. Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Turned 50 the other day. He, after all, is not a maniac of procrastination, and does not hate phoning people up. No, he is a master of efficiency and of making his sweetie happy. But then there was the weather. Can't fight the weather. I guess a lot of people get uptight about turning a decade. They see this big milestone in the road, and fret about getting old, and regret things behind them, especially things not done. It's a major event. Links to this post.

Have genes will travel: The Debutante

http://sciencegirltraveler.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-debutante.html

Have genes will travel. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Much to the surprise to myself and the Card Player, Mia came out from her cave on Saturday. She came out for a stretch, some petting, and quite a lot of meowing. Apparently she is a talker. After six weeks of silence, who'd have guessed? Then Sienne came around, so Mia retreated. Who knows, maybe they're best friends when I'm away at work. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to Sciencegirl's Have Genes Will Travel blog. No, NanU has. Le blog de gégé.

Have genes will travel: Late!

http://sciencegirltraveler.blogspot.com/2015/05/late.html

Have genes will travel. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. We are so late with these test results. February was killed by moving half the lab into new quarters. March one of the techs was out sick the whole month, and we (finally) received our new sequencer. But, you can’t do anything with a new machine without fully testing and validating it, and we’ve got the whole Methods Validation dossier to construct there. No catching up the backlog in March. You just took all that vacation! And now today, we called to inqu...

MALTHUS' EPHEMERIDES: The Tyrannicides

http://maides.blogspot.com/2009/04/tyrannicides.html

Wonders For You To Wander. Thursday, April 16, 2009. In 514 BCE, the ancient Greeks Harmodius and Aristogeiton stabbed and killed the tyrant ruler of Athens, Hipparchus. (For conveinance and comedy's sake, Harmodius is now "Harm" for short and Aristogeiton is now "Arrogance"). This murder was the first recorded act of tyrannicide which made Harm and Arrogance forever a part of history. Followed Harm and Arrogance into history. And who will be the next Tyrannicides? MALTHUS' EPHEMERIDES: John Locke

http://maides.blogspot.com/2009/04/john-locke.html

Wonders For You To Wander. Thursday, April 16, 2009. That humans are born with that blank slate and we are determined by the world we live in? Or do you believe that man is innately good or evil, and all his actions are determined by that hereditary predisposition? Locke's tabula rasa theory inspires such questions. His theory contradicted philosophers of his day who said that humans were instictually evil and aggressive or good and kind. Despite all the theories on Locke's ideas, what do you.

MALTHUS' EPHEMERIDES: The Malthusian Catastrophe

http://maides.blogspot.com/2009/04/malthusian-catastrophe.html

Wonders For You To Wander. Thursday, April 16, 2009. As I so wisely stated a couple hundred years ago, "The power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the earth to produce subsistence for man." What I've been saying for all these years is that inevitably, population will continue to grow and shall exceed the ability of the earth to provide for humanity. While our population exponentially grows, the earth's resources stays a fixed amount. No matter what the future holds for us insignifi...

Wonders For You To Wander. Thursday, April 16, 2009. The Germaphobe. Do you know this guy? There are things that almost turn me into a spasmatic germaphobe too. For instance, a public bathroom in the cities of major population centers like San Francisco in "Monk". When in el bano, do you touch all the doors, the stalls, the toilets, the sinks? Either way, beware the public restroom! So all ye beware! Labels: The Medicine Cabinet. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Northumbria, United Kingdom. Malthus' E...

MALTHUS' EPHEMERIDES: Emperor of the Internet

http://maides.blogspot.com/2009/04/emperor-of-internet.html

Wonders For You To Wander. Thursday, April 23, 2009. Emperor of the Internet. Government Authorities are now proposing a security/police censoring control over the internet. Due to the amount of viral content, malware, phising, and other threats, many people now propose an "Emperor of the Internet". Does any security force have the right to control the international internet? I'm really quite confounded by the idea of an "Emperor of the Internet". What do you think? MALTHUS' EPHEMERIDES: THE MONKEYSPHERE

http://maides.blogspot.com/2009/12/monkeysphere.html

Wonders For You To Wander. Thursday, December 17, 2009. The Monkeysphere, otherwise known as Dunbar's number, is an absolutely brilliant theory of sociology, government, philosophy, and human nature. Fundamentally, the theory is based off a study of the social organization of monkeys; how they organize and how they govern themselves. Humans are naturally social creatures and this academically accepted theory has found that most humans have approximately only 150 other humans that they can have relationsh...

Girls rock and science is cool! | Girl and science awesomeness

Girls rock and science is cool! Girl and science awesomeness. Diary of a new PI. September 30, 2012. When I was a post-doc I took a course called ‘How to become a PI’, which incidentally was very helpful, one of the things Anna Price. I ended the second of those posts saying the start of the year was a rush in both senses of the word and that pretty much sums up my whole year. It’s taken some sacrifices, mostly to my social life and my blog, but it’s been worth it. Despite all of this support there were ...
