Lunes, 28 de octubre de 2013. During cold winters, ice can form on small lakes and ponds. Many people enjoy skating on the ice. Occasionally, a person skates on thin ice and breaks through it. Why do rescue workers lie flat on the ice instead of walking upright when reaching out to help rescue a skater? Because of their weight and elevation they would break the ice and fall into the water.
