Searching for balance between research, family and life. About Dr. O. On Science and Faith. Rejections, colds, and lonely travel. August 10, 2012. It’s been an action-packed summer for yours truly, and I’ve barely had time to breathe. Apparently aware of this time crunch, Monkey was kind enough to bring home the latest daycare plague and pass it on to me – initiating the worst sinus infection I think I’ve ever experienced. No time to breathe? This entry was posted in illness. August 10, 2012 at 4:34 pm.

Dreams and hopes of a (former post doc) scientist. Sciencey blog with emotions, sometimes too personal, it's venting ;). Tuesday, December 30, 2014. 12 days of Christmas: Day 12 - God fortsättning. Happy Continuum') After the 'God jul' (the Merry Christmas in Swedish that has no reference to 'christ' but rather Yule) comes the 'God Fortsättning'. The 13th day of January when we remove all the decorations from the tree (eat the sugar), dance around it and then toss the tree out through the window! One, du...

Dreams and hopes of a (former post doc) scientist. Sciencey blog with emotions, sometimes too personal, it's venting ;). Saturday, August 02, 2014. Failure to post - pain. I can't believe it's been since May that I posted. Where has the time gone? So, all in all - I've spent too much time moping (no sleep) and working and thinking about all the posts that I want to write. I miss writing, the structuring of thoughts and the whole "finish a piece and press publish". End moping and whining phd. Female scien...

A liberal/feminist/atheist/scientist/wife/mother and lover of all things shiny. Monday, September 12, 2011. The places my brain meanders. BTW where are the pictures of angry brown women shaking their fist? I worked all day today and wrote a whole page (with references) of my discussion section. I don't know how fast other people write but this is really really good for me. I think I am slowly getting better at the writing thing because what I wrote doesn't totally suck ass. Yeah me! So I am going to appl...

A Natural Scientist: Allergies
http://naturalscientist.blogspot.com/2015/07/allergies.html
In Which I Am Indignant. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Our otherwise very good family doctor said to give "limited" amounts of nuts to the baby before age one. Well, I'd already given her peanuts. Eggs, and cow dairy, to no ill effects. Also sesame, assorted fruits and veggies, wheat, and corn. Probably soy too though I wasn't really trying. Yesterday I have her a tiny amount of ground cashews. Ten minutes later her eyes swelled up so much she couldn't see out of one of them. I still feel like a terrible mother.

Searching for balance between research, family and life. About Dr. O. On Science and Faith. Two things n00b (and not-so-n00b) grad students should remember. September 11, 2012. At least in my field; this is completely field and sub-field, even sub-sub-field specific, which is kind of the point here. Maybe the word “journey” is a little cheesy here, but I don’t really give a shit. This entry was posted in grad school. And tagged grad school wisdom. A GOOD day →. September 11, 2012 at 7:46 am.
