http://polka-dot-palace.blogspot.com/2015/08/august-currently.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. It's the beginning of August, which for many means school is right around the corner, I'll be singing that song with the September Currently, but for now a few more weeks of summer and a link up with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade. I'm listening and trying to watch the 80s movie Little Monsters. With Fred Savage and Howie Mandel. I loved this movie as a kid and when my sister told me it was OnDemand, I had to watch it. Luckily it doesn't look like this anymore. It might actuall...

http://mrspalleschi.blogspot.com/2014/08/teacher-week-classroom-digs.html
August 19, 2014. Teacher Week: Classroom Digs! It's day #2 and it's all about the WHERE! I mentioned yesterday that I don't go back for another two weeks but that doesn't mean I haven't spend much of my summer planning what my room is going to look like! I've been off for 2.5 years and I'm changing grades when I go back. Even though I haven't set up my new digs yet, I thought I'd share my inspiration for my new room. I'm planning a big classroom reveal when it's all done. Has 2 awesome packs in her store!

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. The Kissing Hand Unit and Freebie. The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn is my favorite back to school story for Kindergarten. Chester Raccoon is worried about going to school for the first time. His mom gives him a "kissing hand" so that her love will be with him all day at school. Click below to see my full unit and sampler in my store. Here's a video of Audrey Penn reading the kissing hand. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Monday, June 29, 2015. My Masterpiece and A Freebie.

Blog about life, writing, and teaching. A Great Idea (I hope) and SOL. I'm gearing up for the March Slice of Life. Story challenge at TWT. I'm doing my best to slice every Tuesday until March and then every day in March! You should join in and Slice too! Next week we are having our yearly professional development day at our school. Every January we have a PD day on one Monday, and I have to say most years. Getting others to understand that is the hard part. If every grade did this every day then when the...

Blog about life, writing, and teaching. Fifty Reasons to Love the New Season. Joining up with the Two Writing Teachers. For the weekly Slice of Life writing challenge. It was momentous. I was shocked, surprised and shaken by the outpouring of laughs, love and just flat out fun. I cannot put into words the amount of love I feel for my kids, my family and the wonderful people I call friends. I am beyond blessed. If this decade is anything like the last I am in for amazing things. In my last decade I wa...

Blog about life, writing, and teaching. What Would You Do? But then it happens. AN actual bullying event. In your classroom. With your kids. And all the professional development, all the training, all the reading, and all the policies feel useless. And inadequate to deal with what has happened. The parents become involved. The bully’s parents deny and the victim’s parents cry. And you cry. And feel helpless and lost all over again. How could this happen on your watch? How can you make it right? Nope seco...

Cultivating Concepts: Clean Friends are the Best Friends!
http://www.klingercafe.com/2015/07/clean-friends-are-best-friends.html
Blog about life, writing, and teaching. Clean Friends are the Best Friends! I’d like to introduce you to a new blogging friend I have. What’s so great about this blogging friend is she not only blogs, she lives right here in my hometown AND her son attends our school (and I may be lucky enough to get him next year. Fingers crossed). I am so excited about her blog because I have a hard enough time finding blogger friends in Oklahoma let alone my own hometown. You can find her at Liz4fitness. So I asked Liz.

Blog about life, writing, and teaching. I Am Back SOL 15 on Day 29 2015. What I have learned from my month of Slicing. Or lack thereof. I have sliced a total of fourteen days this month. Fourteen. That is a record for me, and not necessarily a good record. For the past five years I have happily joined in this challenge, and waited keenly for March to come. This year was no different. But I don’t want to be the writer that doesn’t write either. I find myself comparing my angst to my studen...And so here I...

Blog about life, writing, and teaching. So, Who is Your Teacher BFF? Have you been reading the Facebook posts lately about the different types of teachers, and if you have a “teacher bff? 8221; I have to say I’ve never given much thought as to what type of teaching personality I have or my fellow teachers have. But I do know that after reading the articles I can see myself and others in the A or B traits and most especially the introverts. To say these women are amazing and our relationships cherished is...
