Hat sales are slow The watermelon hats always sell, both toddler and adult size. The first one is seedless with a colorful button. I flipped this one so the red is on the bottom. It and the next one are both seeded. Just get some little black beads. Sew on as many as you feel like. This little hat is a blueberry. It sold quickly. Saturday, July 4, 2009. I got inspi...

Nan's Gone Loomy: Jingle Bell Walk
http://loomynan.blogspot.com/2011/01/jingle-bell-walk.html
Sunday, January 9, 2011. The Jingle Bell Walk is an arthritis money raising event in December in Portland. Team Annie members Annie, Drew, Nan and MaryBeth wore red and white earflap hats minus Gracie, Gretta and Grandma Judy. I made these hats the month before on an Hawaiian family vacation. I had many comments from curious folks around the pool. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Buy my hats on Etsy. Birchlimb on Etsy.com. BB the yarn eating cat. View my complete profile. Nan's Gone Loomy: April 2010
http://loomynan.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 30, 2010. Spring is here and so is Saturday Market. Earflap hats sell until the weather warms but sales slow down as the thermometer goes up. Carmen taught me how to make purses. It is quick, easy and uses up all the leftovers. It is fun because of the creativity needed in combining colors and textures. These sample photos show some ideas using fun fur for accents. Nan's Gone Loomy: June 2009
http://loomynan.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 25, 2009. This is Hannah modeling a watermelon hat she purchased. Her parents are fresh roasted nuts vendors at the local Farmer's Market. She is earning summer money helping out in their booth and is dedicated to her job. This is Hannah's sister, Caroline, who has gone nuts over knitting with us. She brings her own chair and her stash of yarn and tools. We sometimes get free nut samples from her watchful, close-by parents. Caroline is getting a lesson from Nancy in making pompoms . The go...

I'm a retired teacher who spends much of my time gardening, swimming, walking, cooking, volunteering at my granddaughter's school, reading, and loom knitting. My neighbor started me this winter so I am new at knitting, mainly hats. Big fun mixing colors, yarns and stitches. Some hats come out awful and some come out positively gifted. Monday, July 12, 2010. One section of our Saturday Market booth showing some hats and microwave potato bags. My darling friend of 50 years showed up one day. She bought a bright pink earflap hat for cool mornings on her half hour daily walkswhen Fall comes. She looked so cute she will probably find someone trying to pick her up. Hat Power! Nan's Gone Loomy: September 2009
http://loomynan.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 24, 2009. Fall comes to Oregon and hat offerings for Saturday Market change. After much searching, I found an earflap hat pattern using the Knifty Knitter by Rowena. Back in 2005. It has been extensively revised and these photos show the results. The handsome model is Mark, about to leave for Tonga with the Peace Corps minus any warm hats from his Auntie Nan. Thursday, September 10, 2009. These two commissioned "critter hats" were made for a Market customer's nephew. The green one...

Nan's Gone Loomy: August 2009
http://loomynan.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2009. I took a glorious trip to some of the New England states with lots of plane and driving time. The Knifty Knitter proved reliable in all situations and resulted in 6 hats. I shopped a yarn store in Salem, Mass. and talked knit-chat with the owner, stayed ahead of Hurricane Bill by one day and heard tributes to beloved Ted Kennedy from everyone. The yellow and purple hat on Deven came out gigantic but he thought it was cool. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Buy my hats on Etsy.
